Finding out if a home has legal apts...
The house across from us has tenants and they do now maintain them well at all. The cops have been here numerous times and I want to know if they are even legal apts. Where can I find out this information?
I am in Port Jefferson station..thank you!

Call the Town Code enforcement Department and report that there is a multi-family rental across the street and you didn't know if that was legal. Let the Town figure out if it is or not. If its not legal, the Town will deal with it.
