Finally, an answer to Kailas cough!!!!

She has had a chronic cough for about 2 years, I switched peds twice throughout it all because I kept thinking deep down something was wrong and all I would ever get told is "common cold"

Well, we switched to Dr Nataloni finally, I had been hoping she would open her own practice and she did Kailas cough had been acting up really bad the past 2 weeks, last night she coughed for 3 hours straight and I said THATS IT!!!! I took her this morning, and found out she has asthma.

Im not upset at all, because I feel like I finally have an answer!! She got her first nebulizer treatment at the office and sent us hom with one, right now we have to do treatments every 4 hours to get it under control.

Dont get me wrong, it sucks, but atleast now she wont suffer through it. Oh and to top it off.. she has a bad ear infection. I dont know whether to or .
LOL!!!!

Thanks for listening, Im just glad I found out what was going on with my babygirl

ETA.. if you live with or are close to smokers and your child has asthma, how do you handle it?

I am happy you got an answer. I have had it since I was little and my dad used to and my brother does smoke and they have to go outside and that is the bottom line. Also have to wash their hands as soon as they are done. I still can't go to smoky places without coughing like crazy.....

I am sorry she has asthma, but like you said, now you can step in the right direction to get it under control

You must be so relieved to finally have an answer! And now the ability to make your DD more comfortable! Yay! Hope she stops coughing soon and the asthma is brought under control!

This is what I would say in regards to the smokers. Dr's orders are that Kaila is not to be around smoke or someone who has just smoked because it can make her asthma act up. Glad you have an answer and that she is feeling better!

This is what I would say in regards to the smokers. Dr's orders are that Kaila is not to be around smoke or someone who has just smoked because it can make her asthma act up. Glad you have an answer and that she is feeling better!

i just wanted to share some hope...

i had the same cough - not for 2 years mind you, but for 4 months. i was finally sent for a chest xray and mri and they found the asthma (for me - adult onset). i was on those 'multiple' treatments a day as well, but that only lasted until things got under control.

while i understand that your daughter is much younger than I - i have not had to use an inhaler more than 3 times in 4 years...there is hope that once her body gets back to 'normal' she won't have to be on as strict a regiment!!!

Glad you discovered what it was-- YAY for being such a persistent mom!

I think my SIL uses that ped and loves her too.

I am one of Dr. Nataloni's BIGGEST fans...my son was born 10 weeks premature and has been to her COUNTLESS times...she is always so pro-active with all of his health concerns and I have nothing but great things to say about her, and her entire staff.

I hope she feels better/relief soon! I cannot believe how long it took to figure it out - how frustrating

My brother and I had asthma as kids and we both grew out of it, hopefully she will too!!!
