Filing a police report - question
Can they do it over the phone? Or do I have to go down to the Precint? The situation doesn't need anyone to come to my home or anything - and I have no issues going down the station other than I can't do it today.
Thanks

Re: Filing a police report - question
You can go down to your local precinct -- or any precinct that is convenient for you in your County of residence, for that matter.
But no, you cannot file one over the phone. Maybe that's the wave of the future!! Or online! You might be onto something there!
But, you don't have to completely rule out calling for an officer to come to you and create a report for you... Recently, my mother's car insurance asked her to record something that happened to her car (cement dripped onto it from a construction site, damaging her paint) and she was like, I don't want to call and bother a cop to the house because it happened last week and this is just a formality for the insurance. But, my SO assured her -- that is their job and just call the non-emergency number (each County has one) and they will dispatch an officer at their leisure, not putting someone with an emergency behind you or anything like that. So, I don't know your situation but don't feel bad if you want to do that either. My SO is an officer and even he said, that's our job, that's what we are there for. No bother at all. HTH!
