Fetilization Report
Well, they got 9 eggs yesterday. The retrieval went well. The new LI-IVF facility is beautiful and it was so much more relaxing then being at the Mather outpatient area.
I just got the fert report and only 3 fertilized. I'm a little down right now. This is the same result we got last time. I was hoping for better results with the new protocol. It's also hard for us because the MF is so severe. Now, all I can do is pray that my little emryos grow and divide.

I assume they did ICSI? We also have pretty bad MF, and usually get a good fertilization rate with ICSI

Yes, we did ICSI but, we have really, really, really bad MF. To the point where it was suggested we use donor sperm.
I know it only takes one. My friend only had one and she just had her daughter a couple of weeks ago. She's the one that referred me to LI-IVF. So, I try to remain hopeful. I just hate all this waiting.

I know they retrieved 9 eggs, but how many were mature. It makes a huge difference with your results. Lasts cycle I had only 7 eggs, only 3 were mature. 3 fertilized with ICSI and 2 fertilized normally. So, basically that is a great fertility rate. You know what I mean. Anyway, I think 3 is great. I know we all want extra to freeze. I pray they are dividing right now and on day 3 they will all be 8-cell. Would you put all three back?

I didn't ask how many were mature this time. I always forget all the questions I have whenever they call. I was going to call back and ask but it doesn't really make a difference now anyway.
I'm not sure how many we'll put back if there are 3. Last time, we had 3 but 1 didn't make it so we put back 2. I guess this time, if they all make it, it depends on what grade they are and how many cells. I don't think the RE will want me to put back 3 through b/c I got pg with both my previous cycles. We'll just wait and see.
