I am team green too, but when I heard the heart beat yesterday during my sonogram I turned to the tech and said "it's a girl". It was 157. When I first heard it last week it was 119 and I turned to the tech and said "it's a boy" so it was funny when I said girl yesterday she said " last week you said boy" I was like " I know the stem decided not to grow".

Nope. In both of my pregnancies the baby's HB was always between 135 and 143 and I have a DD and a DS who will be born soon.

I actually could've sworn I was having another DD because at times the HB's were identical but turns out............we're having a Chat Icon . Chat Icon

Wrong for me...
DS heartrate always was on the high side...149-170. It's never gone lower then 149. We said "it's a girl" when we kept going for sonograms but turns out...it's a boy!!!

SIL said my nieces heartrate was always about 135 so I guess is DH's family it just doesn't hold true.

During my level II yesterday I asked the tech what the heart rates were and this was her exact response... "Please don't try and guess gender based on the heart rate, you'll be very disappointed." Twin A was 144 and B was 166 - I'm really thinking I've got one of each in there, but who knows!!

Re: Fetal HR and Old Wives Tales

Didn't work for me. Both DS's were in the high 150-160s. This pregnancy is in the 160's and they told me another boy.

Re: Fetal HR and Old Wives Tales

Wasn't true for my DS. His heart rate was always in the 160's. Interesting about this old wives tale is that it actually holds some truth during labor. A boys heart rate during labor tends to be lower then a girls.

I was team green but when I was in labor with my DS i watched the heart rate because i remember reading this. His was always high, but during labor it dropped to the 130's.

Re: Fetal HR and Old Wives Tales

I am 14 weeks and having a boy. At a very early sono (6-7 weeks) he had a heartrate of 160ish. It has slowed down since but not sure it was under 140.
