FB blocking question

i have an aunt who is CONSTANTLY posting BS memes. nothing harmful, but just stupid. things that have a vibe of "back in my day, real women would XYZ," "young women today don't know how to properly keep a man or a home"... you get the picture.

i just don't want to see that type of stuff, but i do still want to know about how SHE AND HER KIDS are doing.

is there a way to set FB to still see things she actually writes vs when she shares crappy sh!t.

obviously, this isn't life altering. if it can't be done, i'll just continue to scroll on by and do a little Chat Icon when i see her shared posts.

thanks.

Re: FB blocking question

you can temporarily "snooze" someone so they dont come up in your feed for 30 days or some option to see less. you have to click on the 3 dots to the right of the person's name and it gives you a snooze option.

Re: FB blocking question

Also, if the stuff you don't want to see is stuff she "shares", you can block the original source from the same "..." menu.

I had to hide a lot of stuff that my mom shares - I hide the source.

You could also unfollow her and occasionally go to her page to scroll down and see her stuff, but hide source is the better option (unless she saves the images in her own photos).

The snooze option is the best
I literally snooze everyone
My Facebook is now mostly food related, dog related and makeup
I don’t need to see 1,000 baby pics and hear peoples rants....
I should just delete Facebook at this point

Re: FB blocking question

I unfollow everyone that annoys me with their posts. It allows me to never see their crap and when I do want to see what’s been going on, I go to their profile. I usually get to see 1 or 2 posts that are funny or cute and then the rest is their usual BS and I’m glad I unfollowed !

My FB friend list is also quite small. I like to keep it that way.
