favors for a baptism yay or nay?

I am planning my daughter's baptism, and i just assumed its normal to do favors. my mom said she has never seen favors at a baptism. for the life of me i can't remember if i have gotten a favor from a baptism. should I skip them? or do them?

I vote yes... I think every party needs something to give guests - even if its like a themed cookie or cake pop or something simple, I think a takeaway is always nice.

This is what I was saying. I have the same opinion. I feel like they should have something to go home with. I was thinking even something as simple as white chocolate crosses or something like that... cake pop, cookie etc.

I did edible favors and typically that is what I have received. Cake pops are always cute!

I have always received them at any baptism I have ever been to. Of course you don't have to do anything you don't want. I personally would give an edible favor.

I gave out little silver boxes tied with a pink ribbon and inside were silver Hershey's Kisses. I also gave out white Tic-Tacs and make a really pretty pink and silver label that went completely over the Tic Tac label. Everyone loved them.

Have always gotten a favor for a baptism.

Go with something edible.

We just did chocolate covered pretzel rods for my god daughter. Did them ourselves. Easy and delicious

I think favors are very generational. It seems that the generation coming up behind me (I'm 44) does favors for everything. Me not so much. Personally I think they are a waste. And to me, edible favors are the absolute worst, they go straight in the trash, if I even take them.
I don't see any need for it to be done.

Eh wouldn't matter to me if I didn't get one. Trying to think of the last time I did get one. Can't recall. So either I didn't get one or it wasn't worth me rememberingChat Icon

Sorry I have food issues and not knowing where it was made or who it was touched by is a no go for me. Most of the time thought I just leave them on the table when we leave.

LOL gotcha.
It's hard for a compulsive overeater, junk food addict like me to comprehend such self control.
LOL
