favorite maternity store?

I'm in serious need of some clothes- I've been to Old Navy & Gap but nothing there really strikes my fancy- what are your favorite stores?

Unfortunately I've only found stuff I like at Gap (on-line, not in stores.) Motherhood and Mimi don't fit me right. Sorry I'm not much help.

Re: favorite maternity store?

it is so frustrating- so many of the fashions are just nothing I'd ever, ever wear (crazy patterns, etc)

Re: favorite maternity store?

So far I have yet to find a maternity store I actually LIKE .. I kind of hate everything I see!! Chat Icon

The best maternity pants I bought for work are from the Gap .. but they are $$... but they fit great.

Before my vacation I bought a tankini bathing suit from Old Navy and a pair of jean capris - not bad..

I bought another swimsuit from Target it was super cute.. but the rest of the Liz Lange clothes don't work on me at all.

I got a few things at Motherhood but they run BIG and I feel like my belly just isn't filling it out yet..

I found a few cute tops at Kohls that I will grow into (soon!)

The tops are the worst.. mostly soooo dorky and as you said, such dumb cutesy patterns Chat Icon

I understand completely. 'm so frustrated!!! That's why I'm sticking with the basic black and khakis at the GAP even though I don't love them.

Re: favorite maternity store?

yeah i did like the old navy jeans at first- but the elastic is sort of smooshed now and totally uncomfortable.
I got boot cut jeans from the gap but they just aren't cute- they look like "mom jeans"
i'm going to try motherhood & pea ina pod tomorrow- and if I hate them- then I'm going to just get a pair of long & lean jeans 2 or 3 button down shirts and a bunch of tees and tanks.
if I find really cute low sandals I think i might be able to feel cute.
i am just sick of feeling gross, you know?

Re: favorite maternity store?

Well I think Pea in the Pod has the most fashionable clothes, but they're way out of my price range. So I guess I would have to go with Motherhood. I'm still not overwhelmingly crazy about tops and bottoms in general, but I do have a bunch of really cute dresses from there.

I think there is a new maternity store out there and right now the name escapes me, its killing me, its on the tip of my tongue - but I know I have driven past two different locations in strip malls and thought of my two pregnant cousins when I saw this new store.

One was definitely in NJ Dina, maybe Paramus.

Something like, Maternity Warehouse.... Chat Icon I will continue to research!

So far I've gotten the most clothes from Mimi Maternity and Motherhood Maternity. Sears had some really nice tops - I got about 4 for work, and 3 for weekends and when I go out (which is oh so often! Chat Icon)

Old Navy I really wasn't impressed with except for t-shirts and tank tops. H&M I stopped in the one in Source Mall and again, wasn't impressed. Does anyone know if there is Gap Maternity in any of their stores? I've only seen their maternity clothes online.

Try Nordstrom. I found a lot of nice maternity clothes while shopping online. They usually run a special for $5.00 shipping and it comes with a slip to return as well.

Re: favorite maternity store?

I haven't really found clothes I like either. The designs are just not for me! Chat Icon I got some denim capris/crops and some tshirts from JcPenneys. And then I got some other plain tshirt like shirts at Motherhood and 2 pairs of capris for work a black and khaki pair, and a shirt from Fashion Bug. I'm just not into all the paisley, lace looking shirts. It's just not me. I really need some more clothes, but I'm out of stores to look in. I did see some clothes online, but everytime I buy something online it never fits right.

To find a store with a large maternity selection I had to call around and ask which location had the biggest selection of their maternity clothes. JcPenney had some nice stuff and they had 50% all their maternity clothes a few weeks ago so that was nice. I can't afford to shop at Mimi or any of the other maternity stores. There was one around where I live that I called to ask how much their jeans were and they ranges from $80-$180!!! Chat Icon I almost laughed at the lady. How could anyone spend that kind of money on maternity clothes!

So, I don't have much of anything either. It's hard to find just normal clothes, or maybe it's just my taste in clothes. I'm just not comfortable with wearing those styles.

Re: favorite maternity store?

I have ended up getting pieces from each and every place. but I will say in hindsight if I had to pick one place as my favorite it would Burlington. I've bought the most stuff from there and they had a variety and everything was very reasonable. They even had nursing and maternity PJs and nursing bras too. But, I also like all the other places people have mentioned as well.

Re: favorite maternity store?

my favorite pieces my mother found at marshalls by her. the marshalls by me doesn't carry maternity, and as always with that place it's hit or miss.

i refused to pay a lot for maternity clothes and wound up buying things at old navy, motherhood and target.

i also got away with bulky sweaters (some of DH's) during the winter. the spring wardrobe of mine is laughable, and with only a week or so to go, i just do a lot of laundry and wear the same things over and over...

I've gotten all of mine from JC Penny and Motherhood. It's been really tough though. When I found something I like, I buy it in all the different colors.

I like Motherhood Maternity, Fashion Bug has some cute things, and Kohls.

I REFUSE to spend a lot of $$$$ on clothes I will only wear once in my life.

I don't like anything in the stores but I seem to like the maternity section of JCPenny.com.

Re: favorite maternity store?

I just went to the Motherhood (I think that's the store) at the Riverhead outlets - one pair of pants was $25 on sale, and another was $30 (not on sale). Although I have to get the pants altered (grr), it wasn't too bad overall.

I got a couple of tshirts from Old Navy, which are sooo soft!

But I haven't done a lot of shopping so far, its nice to read where others have had success :)

Re: favorite maternity store?

I mentioned on another post, Burlington on the south shore has a maternity section (massapequa, and some of the stuff is cute, trendy and great prices.)

JCPenneys also had some cute stuff, but its hit or miss there.

Destination Maternity is really nice in Huntington across from Walt Whitman Mall. Lots of stylish things. There is also another store called Honey Due in Woodbury. It is on Jericho Tpke. I haven't been there but heard it is pricey. I am going there with my mother (and destination maternity) on Friday so I will let you know how honey due was.

Re: favorite maternity store?

I just came back from yet another unsuccessful trip- pea in a pod and motherhood maternity.
I was so desparate that I actually was going to spend $175 on a pair of jeans- but they didn't fit me and they don'tmake them any bigger than liek a size 10... ugh.
I suppose I'll have to just order online at gap.com.
