favorite educational game/toy for a 2.5 year old
i really want to get dd some educational toys/games for the holiday season. can anyone recommend a favorite of theirs? I am at a loss!

I got my almost 2 and a half year old the Leapfrog Scribble and Write and the LeapFrog Letter Factory Phonics and also the Minnie Mouse matching memory game...as far as educational!

I think any game at this age is "educational" because it teaches patience, following directions, and taking turns- plus, depending on the game, colors & counting
The trick is to make it complex enough for them to stay interested, but simple enough for them to follow.
-Hungry Hungry Hippos (BIL is getting her this one)
-Duck, Duck, Mouse (bought this one)
-Hi Ho Cherry-o
-some sort of simple Bingo game
- Where is Lalaloopsy (also comes in other versions) (bought this one)
-Chutes and Ladders
I'm getting this one for my little one (12m) even though she's a bit young but they can both play it (the 1 yr old with my help)
-Thinkfun Roll and Play Board Game

DS liked to "pay pegs" at that age. we worked on colors/shapes/building/counting.
