false positive???? updated

did anyone ever get a false positive on a blue dye test? i have the faintest, faintest line, but it came up within 3 minutes. i can't even get a good pic of it.

ETA: i put pics of the test in my album.

sounds like you are PREGNANT!!!! I thought falsepositives were almost non-existant! Now reveal yourself. Lol!!!

of course i just googled and on peeonastick.com it says that there have been many reports of false positives with the kind of test i used

I'm going to be honest and tell you that I can't even see the line (but it's early and my eyes may not be working! ); however, if YOU see it at home it's there.

That said, last month I got a "false +" with a +/- test. It did come up after the 3 minutes (but not after a really long time), but it was blue and it was THERE for sure.

If I were you I'd be running to buy another test immediately. Good luck!!!!!!!

I see a shadow in the 2nd & 3rd pics. That is what I had on my EPT test at 10DPO!

What DPO are you ?


Grab a digital or FRER to double check.

I used a digital the next day and it came up PREGNANT right away.

i just went out and got an FRER. the last time i peed was just before 7 am, how long should i wait to test?

I can't really see anything. But it's been like 2 years since I've examined a HPT

Anyway, I would def test again with a digital. When I got my BFP with Ryan it was very faint at 3 days late. I was going to wait until the next morning with FMU to use the digital but I couldn't. I retested within an hour and got the "pregnant" symbol!!

So, if I were you. I wouldn't drink too much water for fear of diluting the hormone and retest in an hour or 2.

That test is the one I got my BFP with both times and they were pretty faint...BUT...a thick faint line is usually positive and one that is skinny (just the outline) is usually a false positive. Blue dye tests are unfortunately notorious for those!! I couldn't tell what your line looked like but it sounds promising...

I always backed up the tests with a FRER and those are usually never ever wrong. Good luck!!!!!!

ok well i don't know what to think, i tested with FRER but i only held my pee for 2.5 hours, BFN.

i will test again in the morning.

ETA: ok i just called my OB, i am going in for a beta today at 12:15.

First off.... Second I am going to be honest, because that's what I do so please understand.

I have used this type of test A LOT! And I seem to always get this maybe a line, I *think* I can see it, but the line is off to the lt, not in the center. To be honest, I can barely see a line and it looks like the false positives I have gotten. I stick to dollar store tests and it I think I see something, and thats only happened once, I get a digital. I'm not trying to be negative, but I just don't want you to go through what I have put myself through. I, personaly, don't like FRER and use clearblue easy regular + and digital. I have found that was most sensative for me. FRER was showing nothing when I got my + and pregnant from clearblue easy and we were about 4wks along with a beta of 134. FM if yu need to talk, I swear I'm suggesting to Delta they offer HPT reading 101 for fall semester!

I don't think 2.5 hours would be long enough for the hormone to build up in your system.


I held for almost 4 hours in the afternoon and got a really light line on an Ept test.

Do me it looks like a line But, this is why I only use the digitals! It would drive me crazy the is it or isn't it. Go buy the clear blue easy digitals and take one tomorrow am with FMU (making sure you haven't peed for at least 4 hours before). That will be quicker and easier than waiting for the repeated bloodwork to see if your levels are going up. SENDING YOU LOTS OF baby dust that this is IT!
