False Positive . . . Is it possible?? SMALL UPDATE

So a few days ago I posted that I was 14 DPO and think I had IB on CD 28. I went home and POAS that night and sure enough BFP!! I had posted it here and everyone confirmed the line was definitely there.

Well I only took the one test and this morning for the hell of it took another since it was there with FMU . . . and nothing

Thoughts?? I have an appointment for Tuesday, but who can wait. I'm tempted to buy every test in the store now but am so afraid to be let down. Has this ever happened to anyone?

UPDATE: so I ended up buying a few more tests. I tested with CBE this afternoon at work and nothing. I then had very little bright red bleeding after a bowel. Called OB and rescheduled my appt for early tomorrow morning. On my way home I stopped and picked up EPT digital and got a pregnant. Think is so frustrating

Sounds like it could have been a chemical Chat Icon

The only false positives I have heard of is with blue dye tests. What kind of test was it?

I assume so Chat Icon but I also have never heard of a false positive on an FRER

Since you got a positive a few days ago, at this point you shouldn't even NEED fmu to get a positive. You really only need FMU if you are testing early.

If it were me I'd def be POAS again Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: False Positive . . . Is it possible??

Unfortunately, I have gotten a BFP on a FRER at 9DPO and it was even confirmed by a digital.

But then two or three days later the line was fading and I was getting some BFN's. AF arrived a day after that.

Hopefully that is not what is happening to you. But I don't think false positives are all that common.

FRER aren't known for false positives -- I think it could be chemical and maybe AF is coming?

Maybe take another test and then call the doctor and explain you got a positive and now are getting a negative, to see if they want you to come in for a beta.

def sounds like a possible chemical. only bloodwork will tell. if its a chemical you will get AF soon but it depends on how high your beta was. you can assume it was near 20 to be picked up on an FRER. those tests rarely give false positives. good luck!

It really sounds like you are experiencing a chemical pregnancy. But to be sure it will be confirmed either when your period comes full force or when you take a beta test at the doctor.
