Extracurricular Activities

DD has been in ballet all year and we plan on continuing next year. Her class will most likely be Sat late morning to early afternoon (a change from this year). I am thinking of signing her up for Fall and Spring soccer too bc she enjoys it. My issue is with all the kid bday parties on Sat that will most likely fall during ballet class. What does everyone do when that happens? I don't mind missing a party here and there, but not all of them. For example, she literally has a bday party every Sat from the beginning of March to mid-April that would fall during this ballet class!!

If my DD has to miss a regular scheduled dance class, she can make it up on another day. Like an evening class or something. That may be an option. We do dance, baseball, and now added Lacrosse into the mix starting next month. Unless it's one of their really good friends from school (we always go to those parties) then I ask which they want to do. If they choose the party I can make up dance or they just mis the sport. They are in kindergarten and pre-K so I don't mind them missing 1 or 2 times of the sport. Next year though if they are playing a sport it'll be different.

My 6 yr old dd dances for 2 hrs on Saturdays. When there has been bday parties that fall during that time I will only let her go if it is a good friend. She has missed 2 classes so far for parties. A lot if her friends are now having parties on friday nughts or sundays because so many kids have activities on Saturdays so we haven't had to say no to too many parties. But my dd is trying out for the company team this summer. If she makes it she will have dance for about 6-7 hrs a week and they really cant miss classes unless sick. She knows this will mean that she may have to miss out on things with school friends but it was she loves to do so I have to let her try it
