Extra Clingy

My 15m DS has been super clingy to only me for the past two weeks. So much so that if I am not within touching distance of him he screams and carry on like someone is killing him. I am a pt SAHM. I know that that probably plays a part in this. The hurricane, loss of power for three days probably are all feeding into this. Not to mention my father was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and we have been dealing with dr appts and such. Does anyone have any advice on how I can ease his fears or whatever is going on with him? My Dh and I have talked about maybe a daycare program one day a week to help with the separation anxiety.....any thoughts?

It could be just a phase. I've heard of many kids going through clingy phases. As a matter of fact my DS is getting like this with DH. If DH is not in his sight he flips out...he had a melt down the other day when DH "left" to go into the bathroom to take a shower
Also I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's condition. Sometimes no matter how much we try to shelter our kids from difficult situations - they still sense that something is wrong. Know what I mean? So between what is going on with your dad and the hurricane aftermath (no electricity) he is just probably a little anxious from it all. Hang in there

Thanks. We are hanging....by a thread....but hanging. I am just hoping its a phase that will come and go!
