Extra clingy at 12 months?
Did anyone else notice this? Is this a phase? DD has always been high maintainence- from day 1- but lately she has become a LOT more clingy.
She wants to be held ALL the time, cries if I put her down, freaks out at daycare in the morning and won't let go of me, etc.
I am assuming it's a form of seperation anxiety. If it's a phase, how long does it last?

Phase they go through, in a few days she'll be swatting your hand away and want nothing to do with you
We go through these alternating phases every other month. He seems to want me most when teething

Re: Extra clingy at 12 months?
My DD has always been like this but I noticed that it got worse now that she turned one.
I keep asking everyone and they tell me it's a phase...I hope this phase ends soon!

Re: Extra clingy at 12 months?
The day of DS's 1st Birthday, he turned shy and clingy. Lasted about 6-8 weeks.. it was so bad. He would cry and scream when I left the room. He cried when almost any man looked or talked to him even hubby... Thankfully he got better over time and within 8 weeks, he was fine...

Re: Extra clingy at 12 months?
Yep - my DD has gotten much more clingy in the last month.
Daycare dropoff was always easy up until a few weeks ago. She now freaks and cries when I leave her.
I have heard its normal for this age but I'm hoping it passes quickly.

Re: Extra clingy at 12 months?
Hey Nell my DD has been doing the same the past few weeks...wants to be held a lot - my DD still isn't walking yet though. She cries anytime anyone leaves the room - not just me or DH. I hope this phase ends quick. Someone mentioned teething - I hope that's it b/c DD has her fist in her mouth at all times - a tooth must be coming!

Re: Extra clingy at 12 months?
with DS it seems that he's more clingy when new teeth are bothering him, he's like a different baby. one day super social and independent, next shy and clingy
I know its teeth cause its all the same symptoms, and they are all gone when the teeth break through.
