Extending driveway?
We are considering extending our driveway. While I would love pavers, I don't think that is in our budget right now, so it would probably just be pavement. Does anyone know what kind of prices it is for something like that? Also, any recommendations?

Re: Extending driveway?
you would need to know how wide. I just made my driveway 19' wide, but all in pavers.
To be honest, the concrete quotes we got weren't that much less so we went with pavers.
blacktop/asphalt was considerably less. I just didn't want to have to remember to seal it every year.

Re: Extending driveway?
we did ours last year... but we did a ton of work. I think the black-top driveway was $2K... but we can actually put 3 cars in it side by side and have some one block us in and only slightly block the sidewalk... so its really big! But it was extended from a narrow 1 car driveway.
I highly recommend D'Alessandro and Son from Deer Park... they go all over LI and Queens, do great work, are neat and extremely reasonable.

Extending driveway?
I would stay away from solid concrete. Our house has a concrete one that the previous owners did and it really looks terrible after that bad winter we had 2 years ago. I would stick with pavers or blacktop. Blacktop will need a sea coat every year or so to keep it looking nice.

Re: Extending driveway?
While I can't help you with price (we did all pavers), I definitely recommend Fernando of Doctor Pavers. He just extended our driveway, re did our walkway and stoop, and laid down new concrete on the sidewalk. He was great and very reasonable!

Re: Extending driveway?
We did ours in 2007. I have pictures in my album. Basically we went form a 2 car tandum driveway to a 3 car and a boat driveway. We kept the apron the same into the street but widened once you came onto our property and then we ran the new section of driveway along the side of the garage to accommodate a small boat.
We did a paver apron with pavers outlining the driveway and then we needed some belgium blocks due to a small grade change. We did the main part of the driveway in blacktop. It came to about $5K total.

Re: Extending driveway?
We just extended our driveway. We used Emerald Isle Paving. I got 3 estimates, he was the cheapest and he was highly recommened by my cousin. I am really happy with the job they did. I don't know the exact price of the extension , we had other work done along with that.
