Explosion at Ariana Grande concert in UK
Horrible. They think it was a backpack bomb- why are people still allowed to bring those in?

Explosion at Ariana Grande concert in UK
It's now being reported that it was a possible suicide bomber who detonated outside of the concert.
I can't get over how many young kids must have been there

Horrific 19 innocent lives taken. Many prayers for these people families. I can't even imagine.
I hate that this is the world we live in. It is just so frightening. It feels as if no one can enjoy their lives carefree any longer. You always have to worry anytime you're in a big crowd.

Awful. How were they able to get this in?
Watching GMA and they just talked to 2 girls that were there. And they were surprised at the lack of security getting in. Said they had to open their bags but the security barely looked inside. 1 of the girls said she saw Bruno Mars there and the security was much stricter.
ETS: My heart breaks for everyone involved. But I can not imagine how Arianna Grande is doing after this. I did read her statement but I just can't imagine the heartache she is feeling today. They said she was inconsolable

There is a train stop attached to the arena. So think of MSG, but on the same level and not underground. So there is an unsecured area between the train stop and the arena. So he waited until the concert was over and people were streaming out to get to the train and then detonated.

Oh ok. Thank you. I was a bit confused by the video from inside the arena.

Everyone inside the arena heard the bang and screaming so they ran. In reality, they would have been safer inside considering the bombing was outside the arena.
It's so hard. I guess you dont know if you should be sheltering in place or running and getting potentially trampled or injured by fleeing.

First thing I think of is 9/11 and everyone being told to stay in the 2nd tower You think you're safe inside but in a moment like that you never know what else may happen.

I watched a video. There were parents waiting as everyone ran out. Hoping to see their child. I can't imagine the pain they are in. This is heartbreaking.

Re: Explosion at Ariana Grande concert in UK
Many prayers go out to all those involved. This world is a scary place and I fear for my children. This morning my 7 year old daughter asked what happened since she overheard me talking to my DH. It is so hard to look Into the face and eyes of a 7 year old who only knows happy things and explain that a bad person did a bad thing and some people went to heaven because of it.

Re: Explosion at Ariana Grande concert in UK
Having a daughter who is 17 and has been to many concerts, this makes me literally sick to my stomach. Many times I have been that parent waiting at the exit. And seeing the faces of those still missing, the youngest being 8, is heartbreaking.
Missing in Manchester
Isis has now claimed responsibility.
