Exercise and BFP
Hi Ladies! Just wondering for any of you that were regular exercisers (runners etc) - when you were TTC - did you continue normal jogging/running on treadmill and abs and arms rouitines? Did you the month you got your BFP? Just wondering if I should stop running and doing abs during TTC to aid in the "sticking"? TIA SO MUCH

Re: Exercise and BFP
No Continue to workout...if anything its better for your body and healthier in conceiving.
I did work out until my BFP. I wanted to continue but had a hemmorage at my 1st sono so doc orders...no excercise for sake of baby. Im out of the 1st trimester and now can excercise again. The doc pushes to excercise because it helps balance out the weight gain and something easier in the end to take off also making labor easier.

Re: Exercise and BFP
this is a tough one for me! i have run 4 marathons and regularly ran 6 miles every other day in addition to spinning classes all while i was ttcing. when i was not getting a bfp i cut back a little then got a bfp (not saying that is WHY i got a bfp but i think relaxing helped!) anyway, i am at 8 wks and on "bedrest" b/c i have had on and off spotting for a few weeks. i can't even walk on the treadmill!! i am so sad and going crazy and know i will be as fat as a house lol it's worth it for the baby though and i know that. i am going to the dr. tomorrow and hope she'll say i can walk once i hit 12 wks or so. if not for the spotting i would have kept up my activity. i can't believe that me of all people has been put on bed rest-it's a total shock! keep exercising unless your dr. says otherwise!

Re: Exercise and BFP
My doctor told me to continue my normal excercise routine but to make sure I don't overheat and to keep my heartrate under 140bpm

Re: Exercise and BFP
I went through IVF, so out of fear I cut back on working out right after the embryo transfer. I doubt it would've mattered if I exercised, but I just wanted to be extra careful! I worked out throughout my entire pregnancy, gradually decreasing the intensity as I got further along. I lifted weights and did cardio just like normal, but not lifting as heavy and listening to my body.

i still go to kickboxing and do the elliiptical machine. I read you should stop running during the 5th or 6th months, becuase it puts more pressure on something...( i don't really remember what they said exactly)
you need to keep your heartbeat below 140 once your pregnant.
