Exclusivly pumping and traveling without DD HELP

May 24-27 I will be going to Las Vegas and I don't know what to do about my milk. I'm pumping 4times a day and getting about 25-30oz a day so times that by 4 days and we're at about 100+oz and 8-10bags of milk. How do I get it home? Do I need to do a carry on cooler? Can I even do that? Do I need to pack it and send it through baggage? HELP! I know I have time, but i'm FREAKING out about it!

Call your airline and confirm their policy. Ask them to send you their policy or e-mail you a copy so you can print it out and bring it with you...

For me, I flew United several times while I was exclusively pumping. The biggest trip was 2 days/nights and I was able to bring my BM in my carry-on.

I recommend printing their policy because when I tried to check in for my flight the check-in guy said 'Yeah, sure, no problem' and then when I went through security they said I needed to have the baby with me. Duh - if I had the baby with me I wouldn't need to have so much pumped milk!!!

I know some other colleagues of mine have sent the BM home via FedEx or UPS on dry ice. It cost $$$$ but their companies paid for it.

ETA: Have the hotel set you up with a fridge in your room. If it has a freezer section, store your freeze/ice packs in that section while you keep your milk in the regular part of the fridge. If it doesn't have a freezer section, get ice from the ice machine and put it in the ice bucket with the lid closed. This worked for me to keep the freezer packs frozen but I also had asked the concierge if they could store my freezer packs in their kitchen freezer (takes guts but you gotta ask). Most people are incredibly accommodating when you tell them you're expressing milk for your baby...

To transport the milk, I just used a lunch tote/insulated bag.

Cool thanks. I'll print the new TSA rules out just incase, and I have a tote big enough to get the milk home.

I just traveled in November without dd too. I packed it in a cooler in my luggage. I actually went on a cruise and kept the milk on ice in my cabin in a cooler. Good luck
