Excerise?

And now starts the questions... Chat Icon

Before my BFP I was doing cardio and weights 3-4 times a week. What can I do now? Can I still do the elliptical at a slower pace than i was? Since my BFP, I am literally scared to do anything stenuous. I know I should ask my Dr. when I see them, but i figured I would get a consensus from you girls. Thanks!

Re: Excerise?

Do everything you used to do , but no abs. No lying on your back flat in the second trimester. So no flat bench press. You can still do incline bench presses.

Re: Excerise?

I agree with OP, you just have to make some modifications after 2nd trimester.

My Nurse Pract./Prep Instructor actually showed us some pelvic exercises that are good to do to insure the muscle tone of your abs (you'll need them for pushing and recovery), so I do them.

Listen to your body. Drink water, don't get over heated, watch your body mechanics, progress slowly. Now, when I work out, I err on the side of cautious (I hold the treadmill when reading so not to risk falling off, I never used to hold on, EVER!), I move slower when lifting weights, etc.
