Re: Excel masters - a question

Do you want to freeze it???

meaning you can work in the rest of the workbook but line 1 will always stay where it is no matter how far down you go??

Re: Excel masters - a question

I'm pretty sure you highlight the row you want to stay static - I'm assuming it's 1. Then go to Window --> freeze panes.

yes!! exactly!

if I choose freeze pane, won't a few other rows get frozen too? I just want the very top row frozen

I tried that and several rows get "frozen", I only want the top row to stay static

No, just highlight Row A when you select Freeze Panes and that will be the only one that stays on the top.

Re: Excel masters - a question

Click on Cell A2 and do "FREEZE PANE" that should freeze only ROW 1

To freeze Column A and Row 1, Click on cell B2 and choose "Freeze pane". ... both Column A and Row 1 will be frozen ... etc and so on ...

I would try starting over -- select the whole sheet, freeze panes, then unfreeze panes, then try again. Roll the sheet all the way to the top, hilight the first row and freeze panes again.

Do you have a split screen? (2 windows of the same file) There would be a thick gray line across the top.
