EWCM or Sperm?

Okay,
So, this may be a stupid question, but I last night- When I was going to the bathroom today, there was a fluid.. It looks like EWCM, but could it be sperm? Sorry for TMI... Has anyone else ever wondered this?

Did you go to the bathroom after you I got my smiley yesterday afternoon also and had what I think was EWCM. I still get confused but I am pretty sure I can tell the difference between EWCM and sperm. Who knows though...haha I didn't have any sperm this morning when I went to the bathroom but I don't know if that is because I went to the bathroom last night. I don't usually have it the next morning though anyway.

Yes, I always go to the bathroom after about a half an hour after The doctor told me it's necessary so you don't get a yeast infection.

I also went this morning and there was fluid in my underwear (sorry for that TMI) which I just thought was residue sperm.

I figured that I still have EWCM when I went to the bathroom around 11... but I'm not sure if it was still residue sperm lol...

Why is this so confusing???

I found this online:

I read somewhere on line that if you have any question about the two, that you there are two ways to tell the difference. One: if you can collect enough put it in water and if it balls up and falls to the bottom it is CM, if it dissolves it is semen or arousal fluid. Two: rub it between your forefinger and thumb and then try to stretch it apart. Semen and arousal fluid will dry up very quickly and CM takes a little longer. Hope that helps.

That is interesting. I don't think I can test it though....haha EWCM can last a few days though so I would think it is that. But I don't know how long sperm stays in you. I know sperm goes where it is suppose to right away and the ones that "fall out" are not "good" sperm.

You don't have to drop it in water; just look at what it does when it falls in the toilet! If it stays intact, it's cm; if it dissolves in the water it's not.

Or if it's on your toilet paper you could smell it. That works too.

ive been TTC for over 18 months and i still to this day have a hard time figuring out the difference between EWCM and DH leftovers. i do find that true EWCM lasts longer than DH leftovers. so if you see what you think is EWCM and it lasts 12-18 hours after your last , its prob DH's stuff and not yours. but obviously if you are a lot then this method doesnt work. i can somewhat tell by the texture, but im never entirely sure!!
