Evenflo Symphony on Airplane

Hi all,

Has anyone even flown with an Evenflo Symphony for their LO to sit in on the plane?

DD's first flight this week - YIKES!

I would look up the seat widths of the plane especially since the symphony is a pretty wide seat. It may not fit.

You always need to check seat sizes in the plane and the size of the seat. Not all seats will fit all planes.

Thanks for the suggestion. Shockingly finding the seat width of the plane was easier than the dimensions of the seat! I've looked thru the manual twice and can't drink it.

I guess I could measure it. LOL.

Definitely see if you can find dimensions. I have that seat and I feel like I looked up dimensions and it still didn't fit. It was such a disaster and so stressful since we had bought a seat on the plane specifically for it but they refunded us after so it all worked out. If you're in the front row bulkhead seats the arm rest doesn't go all the way up on some planes (we were on a 747, Aer Lingus) and that was the issue with us fitting it.

Thank you! SO I looked and the dimensions for the seat are 22inches and the airplane is about 17 inches. ARGH! However, I've read that people still brought and was able to use the seat with the arm rests up.

What did you end up doing? ?

You could buy a cheap cosco seat from Walmart

The symphony is a huge seat. It not only will probably not fit on the seat, but it is a heavy beast to lug around.

How old, heavy and tall is your LO? There are plenty of cheap seats, but not all work with older kids, that's why I ask

And kudos to you for bringing their seat on the plane
It is the safest for them for numerous reasons!!

Thanks everyone for all the helpful hints. We ended up bringing our Evenflo on the airplane. It fit just fine. I had to lift my armrest but that was about it. Last minute I ended up getting a bag from BBB to help carry it thru the airport and could put the seat in there if I needed to gate check it, and of course the night before we left, we went to put it in the bag and it didn't fit! We were still able to use it a bit but couldn't zip it shut (so much for the bag saying it fit Evenflo seats...argh).. Anyway, DD sat in her seat most of the plane ride there and slept in it the entire ride home. I felt so much better having her in the seat, despite how bulky it was to lug her around.

I also had bought the Cosco seat from Walmart but she just didn't feel safe in there IMO and returned it.

I'm so sorry I just saw your reply!! Thanks for the kudos. Just curious, which seat would you have recommended? DD is 30 lbs and probably about 35-36 inches tall.
