etsy invitation file?
I am new to the whole etsy invitation file thing, I know a lot of people do it now.
So walk me through it like im 5. :)
So I go on etsy, find a design I like, personalize and order from the shop for about $15 or so and then upload it to a website like vista print and print invitations for like .42 each.
Is this right? Has anyone used vistaprint for this specifically??

Biggest pain in the a$$ ever. I'll only use an etsy vendor who prints it for me.

Really, I find it so easy and do it all the time. I order the file, give them the pertinent information, they send a draft PDF or JPEG and I upload it to on CVS photo site and print it at CVS for same day pick it. You can print it non-glossy if you'd like. But I usually print it on 4x6 glossy photo paper for .13 cents each. Comes out really cute. You could do 5x7 too, but I'm cheap hahaha.

I've used vistaprint, they are fine but I find there shipping to be slow so just do it in advance. Tons of coupons for vista too if you google.
CVS is the easiest and cheapest, IMO. But it's photo quality not heavy duty cardstock.

I use target as they provide envelopes, not sure it cvs does. I know others on here take it to staples and get them printed on card stock.

I print with mpix for matte card stock or Costco online has it too - but both need to be shipped to you

Re: etsy invitation file?
I print them myself at home. I just purchase cardstock from Staples.

Vistaprint is fine but their 5x7 are formatted weird and they do take a very long time to ship unless you pay $$$, although they are fast during Christmas.
Mpix has always been my go-to, but they increased in price. Their paper is great.
Staples, Costco, CVS, Walmart all print as well.

I find it pretty easy and quick. Most vendors have the proof in 24hrs from my experience. I print off walmarts site and have it shipped to the house or Ive done it at CVS and picked up bc then they give you the envelopes too.

I've done it several times. I've used staples to print before and more recently I used Zazzle for my DDs' first birthday invites

This was my experience too.
I uploaded to vista print but the design only fit the 5x7 post card size. The first set printed terrible so vista corrected it and they were much better. Then I had to go out and buy envelopes. I wanted 50 white 5x7 envelopes. That should be easy to find, right? Wrong! Staples, party city, walmart, nobody had them. Friggan annoying. I had to get 100 5x8.5" envelopes. It looked ridiculous.
