erratic bbt - help please! CHART FIXED
Ugh.. I need some help here from some more experienced temp-ers. I thought I O’ed on CD19. I had a thermal shift after that. it lasted 5 days. But the last 3 days my temps are pretty close to the “pre-O” temps. The last two days my temping is slightly off cause I have had to get to work about 2 hours earlier than normal. Tomorrow I will go back to normal time. Anyway its obvious that my chart doesn’t show the “sustained thermal shift.” Does mean that I DEF didn’t O?? Im so …. After the four days of higher temps FF actually drew me my O line on CD19 and a coverline. Then yesterday it revoked the line… I really wish I knew what was going on in there…I know this sounds dumb but physically I do feel like I did O on CD19… can anyone help?? Here is the chart: Image Attachment(s):

Re: erratic bbt - help please!
Without looking at the chart, here are my impressions from what you've posted.
First and foremost, your temp can definitely vary if you don't take it about the same time everyday (within one hour of when you usually take it). So being that you have been taking your temp about 2 hours EARLIER than you normally do, this could be the reason why.
Second, it's possible that your progesterone levels have dropped and that's why your temperature has dropped. How many DPO are you currently? 8DPO?

Try copying the entire screen (print screen) and then pasting it in Paint or PowerPoint and cropping out the extra space, then save as a jpg.

Re: erratic bbt - help please!
I only see my most recent chart too...
Either way, I had really erratic temps when I first started temping until I switched to vaginal temps and that evened everything out! I finally trusted the temps I was getting!
And really, it sounds a lot worse than it is!

What do the open circles mean vs. the closed/filled in circles on the temps for those days?
Will you be able to take your temp at your usual time going forward? I think that taking your temp at a different time the last few days may have messed with the chart.

Hmmmm. To be honest, by looking at the chart as it is now I agree with FF that it looks like you didn't ovulate.
Having said that, I read somewhere that for every hour that you wake up early your temp decreases by .2 degrees. Now I wouldn't recommend doing this on a regular basis, but try adjusting those two last temps using that .2 degree rule and see what it does to your chart. If the ovulation line comes back then I would say that would indicate when you ovulated. Does that make sense?

Re: erratic bbt - help please! CHART FIXED
moving forward towards the rest of the week i should be able to temp at normal times. just yesterday and today i had to be at work at 7 and 730 even though i usually dont have to be in til 9. i did the temp adjuster but it def wasnt super significant.
im so
is there ANY way to just tell if i O'ed other than a sono?? i have an appt with a new ob/gyn on the 28th but i was hoping not to have to wait that long. i guess if AF or BFP doesnt come by then ill know....
also note that just in case i have used OPK since then, even though its not listed on the chart. ever since the last + I had one more day of a lighter line and no trace of a line since then...
finally, does vaginal temping really make that much of a difference? the thermometer i have is new since this is the first cycle i have temped, so i doubt its an issue there.

The thing about temping is not so much whether your thermometer is defective or accurate, but rather that sometimes you can have less accurate temps when you take them orally (for example, if you sleep with your mouth open and breath through your mouth, that can affect your temperature). So some women test vaginally - note that once you start one way, you should finish that cycle that way so that there's no confusion since your vaginal temps will be higher than oral temps.
So some women will decide to take their temps vaginally throughout their cycle to get more stable readings.

Re: erratic bbt - help please! CHART FIXED
you had a +opk on day 19 so you most likely ovulated on day 20 after the surge

if thats the case regardless of cd19 or 20 should i be concerned about the 3 consecutive low temps?
