Episiotomy, Tear, & sex question....(with Poll)
If I left anything out please elaborate. I am doing an experiment.
With DS#1 I had an epis and sex was rough for quite some time. I would actually cry when I knew it was coming.
With DS#2 I had a 1st degree tear with a few stitches and although I can still feel where the stitches are a little I feel like is soo much better this time around.
I am wondering if the Epis had anything to do with it.

I tore REALLY badly, almost all the way to the back, if you know what I mean. It was honestly a good year before it wasnt the slightest bit uncomfortable.

I didn't have an epi and I had second degree tears. Sex was uncomfortable at first but it got better with time. It really wasn't painful, per se, just more friction that wasn't normal

I tore internally and had a LOT of stitches. We waited a bit longer to DTD but other than being a bit sore afterwards, it wasn't uncomfortable during.

I had a second degree tear and I was so nervous to DTD the first time. I got nice and buzzed for it, lol. The 2nd time I was sober and it was good- although I feel like I lost some of the feeling, but I'll have to see how it is over time.

I had an epis plus 3rd degree tear
sex its still strange (kind of hurts but not too bad just feels strange, certain position are more uncomfortable then others)
and its almost a year (although I do think the fact that its not often enough may have something to do with it)

I had epi and still tore had stitches, whole nine yards!
I WASN'T JUST uncomfortable with sex, I was in pain! Its like we try every 4 weeks, and its still painful for me.  ... but getting a little better each time, since I'm not BF anymore.

I was cut and than I tore the rest of the way OUCH! I had what was called a third degree laceration and was stitched from FRONT to BACK ! I waited as long as I could toI was so nervous it would hurt I think after 2 months I decided I was ready and it wasn't bad TMI we used a lot of lube to ease the transition.

I don't think you want me to elaborate on what happened to me - both times. But there was tearing - and it was "abnormal". With DS1 we waited about 6wks. It wasn't as bad as I expected. With DS2 we DTD 3wks PP. Again, not bad.
Each time the first time was a little sore - but I was fine going forward.
I should say I think I have a high tolerance for pain

I tore pretty bad and had a lot of stitches. Sex is ok..some times of the month better than others. but i can tell you that 8 months later and i still do not feel the same back there.

I had an episiotomy with both kids.
With #1 I had a lot of cutting done since he was stuck. I mean really stuck. His head was so bruised for the first week of his life. When we finally dtd (I say finally bc it was months) it was painful. It never was really good again until after about a year pp. I got pregnant on that first good time :lol;.
After #2 it was not bad at all. We dtd so much more now. I actually enjoy it. With #1 I felt like the stitches were pulling months after it had already healed. I only have a twinge now if I move the wrong way. After #1 I never wanted sex ever. Now I am wishing the kids would sleep so we can have more

I had a 4th degree tear, in which you tear all the way through  Extremely painful and then 2 weeks after delivery had to go back and get the whole thing repaired since it wasn't healing right. So now 4 months since giving birth- it hurts BAD to have sex. To the point where i don't even want to try anymore.

Omg I am dealing with the same thing. My DH can barely keep up lately. He said he hopes it last forever lol!!!!!!!!!!!

I had 2 minor tears that required a couple of stitches. The first couple of times we're painful, but after that it was fine. Within a couple months it was like I had never even had a baby.

I had both, a 3rd degree episiotomy and 2nd degree tear  It took some time but things are fine

sex its still weird at times (kind of hurts but not too bad just feels strange, loss of feeling at times.
Once I gave birth I still waited another 4 months before I was so scared how it was going to feel!!!!
It took the Dr longer to stitch me up then it did the push my DD out
But I was walking around the next day after birth pretty good and felt great

I tore and I had stitches (my doctor wouldn't tell me how many ). DTD was soooo painful at first. I ended up having to go back because I had scar tissue that was causing most of the discomfort.

I had an episiotomy with stiches and it was a bit sore in the beginning when DTD but we eased into it and things were fine after a bit.
