Entertainment for Party
Having my DS 1st Birthday party in a hall this September and need ideas for kids entertainment. Can you recommend any great companies? Age group is mostly 6-12

I've been to a few parties at halls and I think all you need is some music. Especially for that age group that's older. Kids will do their own thing and play together. If you want to get a box of silly dress up stuff for them to dance around in that could be cute... sunglasses, hats, etc.
Other than that I personally don't think you need to hire entertainment. Make a good mix of music or get Pandora or Spotify to play music.

Entertainment for Party
I love planning parties and tend to go overboard... On that note, for the 1st bday, we did- a clown who did a show and dress as a character, she also brought a cotton candy machine and did balloon creations. We hired a photobooth and used that as favors, a DJ. We also hired a caricaturist. Everyone loved her and i again used that as a favor. Hired a photographer so that i could have professional pics done.

for my DS first birthday we used professional kids entertainment, they came for an hour and a half. I had them dress as a costumed character but other stuff the older kids enjoyed was face painting, balloon animals, dances, magic show.

We used Joe from Legendary Entertainment also. They were fantastic - we had Mickey & Minnie they danced, played games, face painting and had cotton candy. The kids had a blast!
