Endometriosis
A friend of mine has severe endometriosis. She is resently trying to get pregnant and isn't feeling too hopeful about getting pregnant.
For those that have endometriosis, how long did it take for you to get pregnant?
Thank you.

Re: Endometriosis
I have endometriosis and got preggo with DS the first month, so it can happen. But, my diagnosis was mild endo.
Has she had surgery for it?
FM if you have any questions.

Re: Endometriosis
My cousin had Endometriosis, I do not know the extent of it though. She has 2 children, the youngest is 3, and she recently just had a hysterectomy (I believe she is around 32ish).
She had the 2nd baby after knowing she had endometriosis.

Re: Endometriosis
She didn't have surgery but needs to get scraped every 6months. Is that considered surgery? Sorry I'm new to endometriosis but I know that's what she tells me. Recently, the doctor told her that he doesn't think she'll need to get scraped as often as in the past.
Thank you for all your input.

Re: Endometriosis
I was never clinically diagnosed with Endo but my dr's all thought I had it, but I elected never to do a Lap to make sure it was there. It took us 5 months to get pregnant! Good luck to your friend!!!

Re: Endometriosis
How did dr. diagnose it without surgery. That is the only true way to confirm if it is endo or not.
I had stage 4 enodmetreosis and dr did a lap to remove it and i went on lupron for 6 months. This was all before I got married. It took us about 9 months of ttc. It is possible and tell her not to stress to much ( I know easier said than done) that will only delay things.

Re: Endometriosis
I have stage 4 endo. It took IVF to get me pregnant. There was no other way for me since my body is so badly damaged. It took 1 year of fresh, frozen and cancelled cycles to work. I've had lap surgery twice and several scrapings and cleaning. I was on Lupron for 6 months too. We were trying to conceive for 2 yrs prior.
It's not impossible, but I would suggest seeing an RE to move the process along. It doesn't take IVF for everyone, but my OB said seeing an RE was the only way I'd have a chance of getting pregnant.

Re: Endometriosis
The good news is that if she hasn't had surgery yet, they can't diagnose it and she may have mild endometriosis if she has it at all.
Endo is a strange condition and the amount of pain you feel does not always correlate to the severity of the condition. I had a lot of pain, but very few lesions and little scarring (hence the diagnosis of mild endometriosis).
My advice to her is to start TTC immedeately after she has her laproscopic surgery (that's when they scrape).

She very well could have has surgery. I didn't get into too much detail with her before I asked the ? on the board. If that's how they diagnose endometriosis then she had surgery
