Endometrin

Hello ladies. I am a little confused and need your help and advice. This morning I went to my RE to check my progesterone level and they did a blood test. The nurse said she would call me only if there was a lower level. Well, I received a call and the nurse said that I have a 7.5, which is normal for most practices, but they usually like their patients to be at 10. She said she was going to prescribe a medicine called Endometrin, which is a progesterone suppository. She said she wants me to take it twice a day. I guess at the moment I had her on he phone I didn't think to ask her if I need to take them even when AF gets here? I am supposed to get AF in a week. Also, if I am starting my first IVF at the end of June does this mean I have to be on these suppositories for months? I honestly don't want to take them for no reason. I called the nurse back but she didn't return my call yet. I also have a consultation with my RE to go over my IVF protocol in about two weeks and I would like to ask him about this as well. Please let me know if you had any similar experiences and/or advice. TIA!!

You stop taking it if you get a neg pregnancy test or period ( you may not get your period while taking these so you may need a preg test). If you do become preg you will continue until around 10 weeks or so.
If you need another cycle after this you will start taking this again after you ovulate or are triggered .

TY for your reply. You taught me something else they didn't tell me...it may stop your period? Now that would freak me out!!! I am TTC and I truly think that would throw me off the edge.. I will speak to the nurse about this. Thank you so much!

Endometrin

I am on them for the first time this cycle. This is my 4th day on them and I have no side effects but they are messy...lots of leakage. I have to stay on them until my Beta and if I am pregnant I stay on them if not I stop them. If AF comes first I will stop them. Good luck.
