Re: Egg Nog

This is my Grandfather's recipe, and he's from Kentucky.

6 eggs, separated
1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
1 1/2 cups Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
1 pint whipping cream
1 cup milk
Grated nutmeg

In a medium bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually add 1/2 cup of sugar to the egg white mixture, mixing until the egg whites are glossy, not dry. Set the bowl aside.

In a large bowl, beat egg yolks until thick and yellow. Add the remaining sugar and mix well. Gently pour in the Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey and mix to blend.

In a small bowl , whip cream until stiff. Add the egg whites to the egg yolk mixture in the large mixing bowl, folding gently with a spoon to blend. Next fold in the whipping cream.

Pour or ladle into a large punch bowl. Add milk and gently, but thoroughly mix. Sprinkle with grated nutmeg. Serves 16

ETA: We omit the JD when making for kids.

Re: Egg Nog

ok. here goes... seems easy

3 egg yolks
1 can evaporated milk 12 oz
1 can sweetened condenced milk 12 oz
1 can coconut CREAM (not milk) 15 oz
vanilla (she didn't say how much)
raisins
ground cinnamon to taste
white rum to taste

she said throw everything (except raisins) in blender and blend the heck out of it to make sure the eggs are well blended.

she strains it, just in case there is any of the egg that didn't blend all the way.

you can easily multiply the recipe
