I used Willmaker Pro and printed out the forms. Healthcare Proxy, living will and a will for each of us.
It was signed in front of witnesses and distributed to our family.
The documents are in our safety deposit box and a copy at home.
Janet, thank you for posting this. It's so important.
DH and I don't have quite enough life insurance so that's our next step. Luckily my firm provides their employees with free financial advisory services which include estate planning. We are slowly getting that all done. I don't want either of us to have a financial burden if one of us dies prematurely.
These decisions are too hard to make alone. If you have to do something as drastic as take someone off life support you need all the support you can get especially from the person in that state. Your wishes will be clear, there will be no debate or guilt.
DO IT!

We did have a conversation in front of family members, but nothing is official.
I'm in NJ, so things are a little different. I have a 30 page package of information that needs to be filled out.
