eddiesmommy can you help me too?

A few weeks back I asked if anyone could photo shop my front yard for me so I could get an idea of what it would look like, but no dice. Can you do it so I could see? I would appreciate it greatly.
Here is my front yard. I'd like to remove the two large round bushes next to the driveway. I would like to remove the ones in front of the house and replace them with a tree to the left side and then just cypress plants all in front of the window and one on the right side of the door. Can you show me that? (cypress photo courtesy from JldDolphin)

I can, but I have to do some actual work right now, then I have a meeting and then I can do it.

Re: eddiesmommy can you help me too?

One word of caution with that tree - I had a blue spruce just like it and it got huge and blocked the view of the front of the house. I'd make sure before you plant anything so close to the house that you make sure you know how wide and tall it gets, and if it will get the proper sunlight it needs to thrive.

If I had your house and was putting a tree there, I would do something like a ornamental. Cherry tree, apple, magnolia, japanese maple, crape myrtle even. Chat Icon

By the way, I also have the yellow colored cypress and although I wasn't thrilled with it when we moved in, it's grown on me. Chat Icon

You need to quit that job so you can decorate and photoshop full time!

Ya know what it is, I am trying to cover an a/c wall unit that is behind that bush. So whatever we replace it with, it needs to be something that is tall enough to cover. I am not even sure if the blue spruce is what I am wanting. I keep seeing this type of tree on others lawns and I love them, but do not know the name. There are two that are near my home that I am thinking of photographing and seeing if someone knows the real name.
Any other recs on what I could put there that is large enough to cover the dumb a/c. Moving the ac is not an option.

I gotta get me some photoshop skills. Chat Icon Beth now you can shop around for plants. Cypress's will look nice in front. But like Greenfreak said, be careful what kind of bush or tree you buy for that left corner. It could grow too big and then you have problems with having to cut it down. Chat Icon Go to a good nursery to shop around at least. We bought our plants at Garden Department in Coram on Rt. 112. They were very helpful. Or if Hick's Nursery is closer for you talk with them and then buy what they recommend somewhere else cheaper. Chat Icon

Re: eddiesmommy can you help me too?

Totally take pictures of things you like and post it. I've turned my attention to trees and shrubs lately, and found out the names of a lot of things so I might be able to help. If not, people have done this before and someone always knows!

Take more than one pic at different angles if you can though, and if you can get a closeup of the leaves, that would be good too.

It's not a Leyland Cypress, is it? (pic below) They are extremely popular with people who want something not-so-expensive to screen an undesirable view.
