Re: echo cardiogram
I had one at 19 weeks due to a heart condition I have, they just wanted to check the baby.
It was great. It's just like a sonogram (external), but it's a more sophisticated machine, and they really focus on the heart, take measurements, view heart motion, etc. Our sono tech was great, showed us all the chambers of the heart, etc...he also was able to tell us , it was a few days before my Level II. He also showed us the other organs, femur, etc b/c he was super nice, not sure if they all do that.
It was great to see the baby again, and to see the heart so in depth. Again, it's really just like a regular external sono, just more sophisticated technology that just mainly focuses on the heart.
Good luck.
ETA: I think maybe it took an hour or so, but again, our tech showed us lots of other stuff b/c it was the end of the night and I don't think he had any other patients after us.
