EBF moms who didn't give bottles re:weaning
Any advice?
DD only had bottles a handful of times and probably not since she was about 8 months. She's 13.5 months now. I've been giving her a straw sippy of milk at each meal for about two weeks and she's getting better with it but she only takes an ounce or two total throughout a day. She still nurses 3x a day and sometimes once during the night. Do I need to cut out a session entirely and offer her the sippy instead?

That is what we are doing (cutting a session and replacing with a bottle or sippy) we are nursing am/pm only now and offering two 4oz bottles/sippys during the day. Our DS doesn't seem to be taking very much milk regardless of whether it is pumped breastmilk or soymilk (dairy allergy). Maybe a total of 4-6 oz. He does like water in a sippy. I wish he would down his bottles/sippys more easily it would make me feel better about the weaning thing (or if he was a big eater of solids, which he isn't).

Try to cut out the night feeding first, don't offer the cup then. You want her to sleep. Then, about a week later cut out a mid-day and give a cup with lunch. Then cut out the morning, and then before bed. Gradually. That's what I did. DS weaned by 11.5 months. DD by 13. It will take about a month or so.
Give the cup with every meal and snack. Maybe try a traditional cup to see how much she will take. DD is currently 14 months. I started her on the regular sippy, but she transitioned to straw pretty easily. She drinks from both now. I started her with water in the cup around 9 months, so she had practice. She started milk around 11.5 months.
