Eating the Crib!!!

SO I came into my DS' room today to find teeth marks on the side of the crib. I had already put the crib "guard" on the front and back parts of the crib. Didn't think I needed them also for the sides which in my opinion are pretty high up....I know it's the result of teething since when I pried (yes pried since he won't willingly let me look) his mouth open I saw he had 5 back teeth coming in at once! Yikes....

What did you girls do to offset the eating of the crib?

I also put on crib guards after seeing all the little teeth marks and I got something like this too (over the guards) which helped a lot b/c she really just chewed on it and the teethers I attached.

Re: Eating the Crib!!!

I have the guards on the front of my crib...and then I noticed my DS chewing on the sides of the crib. We couldn't fine anything that fit the sides, so we actually just used wash cloths. My DH constructed a tie thingy to keep the cloths on, but something my DS would never be able to get off. It definitely do NOT look pretty, but for now its doing the job. Once the teething phase goes away, I will take off the wash cloths!

Re: Eating the Crib!!!

One step ahead sells guards for the sides. I just bought them, but haven't received them yet, so I can't tell you if they're good or bad. I'm really ticked that DS pretty much ruined the side and front of his crib before I noticed. He must have been really busy in there one morning.

Eating the Crib!!!

I have gummi guards on the sides of the crib. Kind of a pain to out on straight, as they stick immediately, but they work and didn't mess the finish up on DS's crib (I unstuck a little corner last week out of curiosity)

Let me know what you think when you get them. I need to do something before it's beyond repair!

I bought tie ones on amazon...they are for front and sides...in the mean time you can tie the bumper around the crib rails if you have one. Worked for me until the real ones came in.

Oh yeah, my DD's crib isn't cute either but once she had gnawed on the sides a bit, she didn't really go back to them once I put the plastic guards on. Guess wood is more tasty. Chat Icon
