Eating dinner

Do you eat before or after your dcs are in bed?

DS is almost 6 weeks old and usually goes down between 9 and 11 - big gap, I know, we're working on it! If we eat before he goes to bed, we have to take turns because he won't sit still, if we wait until after we don't eat until 9.30 or so. Chat Icon

What did you do at this age?

Re: Eating dinner

We started putting the bouncy seat on the table & that got us most of the way through dinner most nights!

Re: Eating dinner

Either when DD's napped or they went in the swing, but we always ate at our dinner time 5:30-6pm.

We always ate when the kid was in the swing...but most of the time I ate ready meals from M&S while holding him!

Nowadays we eat after he goes to bed...mainly for the peace and quiet!

Re: Eating dinner

We took turns eating since DD didn't like to stay in the swiing or bouncy seat for longer than 5 minutes. At that age though my DD would take a fairly long nap in the afternoon and would wake up around 6/6:30pm. DH usually doesn't get home from work until 7/7:30, so I used to eat dinner before DD woke up from that nap.

Re: Eating dinner

In the beginning when Chloe went to sleep late, we took turns or she sat in the bouncy seat or swing. Now that she goes to bed around 7, we eat after she goes to bed... it's much more relaxing! We started putting her to bed in her crib at 3 1/2 months.
