Early sleepers

I'm reading on here a lot of kids, babies, toddlers, etc going to sleep at 9ish. I have no problem with it, but my two have always been early sleepers

They are hungry for dinner at 5pm and my 12 month old Is out by 6:30 and then my 3 yr old is shortly after around 7:15ish. Give or take.
It's tough to go out to dinners with them b.c they go to sleep the time you want to go out to eat. Usually I feed them dinner before we go out and they're ok out b.c we go with others with kids like my family or friend. They're occupied.
Anyone else have early sleepers? My toddler has no issues saying he wants to go to sleep when we have company ove and he's playing. Comes and gets me around 7:30 and sometimes later and says "time for big boy bed. Wanna go sleepies."

They're also up around 6:30 - 7ish. At least the baby will stay in the crib and play a bit till I get him.

Both of mine are too.

DD #1 is 25 months and goes to bed by 7:30 (sometimes 7:15 on daycare days and 8pm on weekends). Up until she was 1, she was always in bed before 7pm and we moved it to 7:30 around 18 months.

DD #2 is 8 months and goes to bed by 6:45pm (sometimes 6:30pm on daycare days and 7pm on weekends).

They both sleep until 7am and I love having a few hours with my hudband after they are asleep. :)

Early sleepers

My almost 12 month old is out by 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and gets really cranky most of the time when I try to keep him up later. Even my 5 year old goes to bed between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. although he is starting to protest and wants to stay up later watching TV.

Re: Early sleepers

That's my DD. In bed by 7, maybe 7:30 at the latest. And she's up between 6 and 7, usually closer to 6. Instead of going out for dinner with her, we go out to breakfast or lunch.

ds#1 (4 yrs old) goes to bed by 8pm. On the rare days he doesn't nap (beach days), he goes to bed by 6:15pm. He wakes up at 6:30am every day.

ds#2 (6 months old) goes to bed at 6:30pm. He wakes up at 5:30am.

Early sleepers

My DS is a late to bed guy but that is partially due to the fact that I do not get home until 630pm and by the time I get him to eat and bath and wind down it is after 8. He is an early riser for the same reasons....I get up for work at 520 so he gets up at 6am so I can feed him and get him ready for daycare.

He is also the type of baby that no matter what time it is if we are out some where and there is something going on then he will not sleep...He is curious!

Yes, that too

I love the time after they go to sleep. DH and I relax, watch tv, maybe a glass of wine and sit outside.

DD is pretty much like this! We also have a similar schedule. I DO try to get her into bed by 8 because she will willingly go, but sometimes it doesn't happen with everything going on.

DD has always been an early to bed kind of girl. Lately she's been going down between 6 and 7pm.

Re: Early sleepers

Both of my kids re in bed by 630 they are 3.5 and 15 months. This is the routine I started as babies and have continued as long as they are willing. They both get 12 hours of sleep a night and my 15 month old takes 1.5-2.5 hour naps. No matter how late they go to bed they are still up at the same time so for me why torture them.
It's what works for us

Re: Early sleepers

My twins are up at 6am and go to bed anywhere between 7 and 8pm. I love that they are on a schedule and go to bed early so I can get some things done around the house but sometimes it is quite inconvenient, especially when we want to go out to dinner or to a friends house. But when they are in bed by 7, it gives me so much time to get things done around the house before i go to bed.

DD goes to be by 7pm the latest, usually closer to 6:30. I wouldn't change it for anything! I love that I can put her to bed and then make dinner for myself and DH.

She is also extremely flexible and has stayed up until almost 9pm when we were at a family party with no meltdown - so I can keep her up when I need/want to.

Re: Early sleepers

My twins are the same way. Up until about 14 months they had to go to bed between 6 and 630 or else there would be a major meltdown.

Now at 18 months they usually go to bed about 7 but they can be flexible and stay up later to go out to dinner, have friends over etc. but they have to eat dinner no later than 6 or they will be so cranky.

Yes it stinks as for being able to do things but I love the face that I have 3 plus solid hours to get stuff done and hang with dh
