Early potty training- how do I handle this?

DD2 (my third child) is 22 months old and is apparently potty training herself. Starting a few weeks ago she would tell me "Potty" and I would put her on it. Invariably, she would go. Now, she goes on the potty about 50% of the time and this morning she pooped on the potty for the first time.

My other 2 kids were 3.5 and 2.5 when they did the potty training thing. I kind of don't know what to do with a kid who is doing this so early.

I don't really know what my question is, I just don't know what the "next" step is with her. If she were older and could understand better I would do a reward chart or something, but that's waaay over her head. I also don't want to mess this up and have her not potty trained until she's 5 or something.

Any BTDT early potty training moms have any advice for me?

Follow her cues.. get rid of the diaper and see if she can sense when she has to go and will go herself... try and giver her an incentive. she may surprise you and really does understand, after all

My DD (she was 18 months old) trained herself in a day.. I couldn't believe it! but that IMO was thanks to her older brother she idiolized..

with my second DD (She is 30 months old) she showed and interest around the 2year mark and I got rid of the diaper and she would poo in the toilet but not pee.. she kept peeing through her undies so I knew she wasn't ready and her put back in diapers.. NOW,. the other day as I was changing her clothes (and diaper) she says to me "mama, I gotta go potty!" and she went and peed in the toilet so that was a complete surprise and the last few days she has been diaperless. so we will see how that goes..

I agree with just following cues.
My 17 month old goes most of the time when we put him on but we don't put him on consistently at all.
But recently he started telling me when he pooped. Sunday, on two separate occassions he pooped, told me poo poo, smacked his butt, got a diaper and laid on the floor to be changed. I'm hoping he starts telling me BEFORE soon

I agree with just following cues.
My 17 month old goes most of the time when we put him on but we don't put him on consistently at all.
But recently he started telling me when he pooped. Sunday, on two separate occassions he pooped, told me poo poo, smacked his butt, got a diaper and laid on the floor to be changed. I'm hoping he starts telling me BEFORE soon
