Early Labor - update!
I woke up around midnight with cramping. I was able to sleep (not well) until about 5, but then I couldn't sleep through them. Now they are about 5 minutes apart and last about 45 seconds, but are not very painful. Does this sound like the start of labor? DH is getting ready to go to work, and I am nervous about him leaving me home alone!

Was due May 2!
Just want to know how long it will last before I am in full blown labor - I am afraid to send DH to work but also don't want him to waste a day if baby isn't coming.

Sounds like it! When I was at the hospital for induction I was having cramping every 2 minutes before they started the Pitocin. Good luck!

They kept telling me that 5 min apart means go to the hospital!

call your ob, they will most likely send you to l&d....5 min apart is when you go....

Thanks - my dr said 5 min apart and excruciating pain - they are not super painful yet.

Sounds like it. For my first, my contractions were not excruciating until the very active labor stage. After 6 cm, after my water broke. At that point,I physically would have had a very very hard time getting to the hhospital and things progressed very quickly from there. I had called my dr not really thinking he would say come in, but he did. My water broke about an hour after getting to the hospital...pretty much right after checking in, changing, and getting the initial check.

I would call your ob! My contractions went from not so painful to very painful fast!! Easy labor vibes!!

Not everyone has crazy pain. We all have a different threshold.
at 5mins apart I would be call ign no matter what the pain is.

Same here!! You must have a good threshold for pain. At 4 min I was on the phone with the doctor, but it wasn't pleasant. You're probably better off laboring at home anyway....but I wouldn't hesitate to call again if they pick up again.

It might be the start. I am also having them. I have a rough exam today though so it could be that too. Just try to rest just in case you will need it.

It was labor! My dr sent me to L&D bc I called and said I was having contractions and not feeling too much movement. They were about to send me home when the contractions picked up. I got here around 3:30 and was about 3 1/2 cm and Harper was born at 8:11!
