E2 Levels during IVF
Does anyone know their E2 level towards the end of an IVF cycle? Last cycle my levels were sooo high I just wanted to know what numbers we should be aiming for. Thx!

Re: E2 Levels during IVF
i wont be much help cause i had really high e2 also, but i was still able to go to transfer, and i got pregnant. i dont know the exact number but two days before the ER it was over 5000. they ended up retrieving 18 eggs, all mature. i did have mild OHSS after ER and then again after BFP.
from everything i read during that time you want the e2 to be below 5000. above 5000 decreases the chances of implantation, but the % decrease depends on how high your e2 really is.
for me i was prone to higher e2's (i had them in prior injectable cycles for ovulation induction) due to PCOS. it was pretty much expected that my stim would result in lots of eggs and high e2, so i wasnt surprised when it happened.
good luck!!

Re: E2 Levels during IVF
Thank you for responding! My last cycle my E2 was just over 5000 and we froze all and did not do a fresh transfer. My new doc is being very cautious as we learned a lot from my previous cycle. I am just so terrified of it happening again. It is a given for me that even with very low meds, I will have a lot of follicles. Last cycle I had 24 - which was way too many. Congrats to you by the way!!

Re: E2 Levels during IVF
Just had a consult with my dr on monday and she mentioned my levels at the end were in a good range. I believe she said my e2 was around 2400.

theres no reason you cant do a fresh transfer if your e2 is in the 5k range. i know of several women that had much higher e2s that had successful transfers and pregnancies. all were PCOS ladies. although it completely depends on your d/x and if you have egg quality issues - 24 eggs seems great!! why would you assume thats too many?? unless you have fert issues - the more eggs the more frosties! out of curiosity, why are you doing a fresh transfer? dont you have frosties to work with?
the worst thing about high e2s and egg counts is the chance of OHSS. obv if you have a bad case of it they wont want to do the transfer. IMO its all right to be cautious but for me the purpose of IVF was that i am known to stim a lot of eggs on low doses of meds - so much so that it was incredibly difficult for my doctor to control that on IUI/TI cycles. so he felt safer with IVF being that we could stim the most eggs and not have to worry because we knew how many we were putting back, so very low risk of high order multiples. so IMO 24 eggs is great and def not too many, although it does put you at higher risk for OHSS.

Re: E2 Levels during IVF
My last cycle my doc would not go ahead with a fresh transfer. We did freeze, and then did 2 FETs resulting in chemicals. I am really hoping for a fresh this time around. Weirdly enough, I do not have PCOS, but am treated like a patient with PCOS. I am just a very high responder.

Re: E2 Levels during IVF
A healthy level (in non PCOS women) should be around 2,500 (up to 3,000).
This is per Cornell (#2 best clinic in the world) which will cancel you if your levels are over 3,000 (in most cases).

What about patients with PCOS? Just curious....
