IVF levels during injections

Going through second IVF cycle.
During first cycle, while taking follistim 200 units, my levels skyrocketed to almost 6000, so the drs kept taking me off, putting me back on. Needless to say, the cycle failed.


I started Follistim injections 100 units for the past two night and ALREADY my levels are high that my dr told me not to inject tonight and to only inject 50 units tomorrow night.

Just wondering if anyone else has gone through similar experiences with high levels during stimming and had a successful cycle.

Hi, when you say your levels are high? Do you mean estrogen level or something else?
I did 1 cycle of IVF and my b/w level were within normal ranges on 450iu of Gonal-f per day (which is the same as Follistim) but I'm different because I have elevated FSH so I may not respond to the stim meds as well as you.

I have a copy of my first ivf cycle paper work. which level are they talking about. i was on 150 follistim in the am and 150 iu menopur in the pm. I can give you my levels if you know which one they are telling you is high. i know my e2 didnt rise enough in one day that for my last day i took 225 iu menopur in the pm.

Remember everyone is different but find out what is too high...

You seem to overstimulate (fast responder)....they need to lower your meds and or coast you (which the RE is doing right now)...have you been on any suppressants (lupron, ganirelix?? or just straight FSH?

I hope they monitor you closely and you don't get cancelled again! GL!!

ETA: you can have high E2 levels and still have a successful cycle but you are at risk of developing OHSS and being cancelled (since you were on your first IVF)..If your levels stay below 4000 (before trigger), you should be fine!

Yes, my estrogen levels. They told me not to inject last night and for tonight to only inject 50 and see what my bloodwork says on Friday.
I am going every other day for b/w so I know they are watching me closely.
It's just so frustrating.

i was on the other end of the scale but i can give you my levels if it helps.. i was a slow stimmer
day 1 of stims E2 29.6 no follies
day 4 E2 51.4 no follies.. now taking menopur in bottom
day 7 E2 181 3 follies right side
day 9 E2 355 lots of follies (12.5 to 7 mm)
day 11 E2 420 10 follies (10 to 16.5 mm)
day 12 E2 602 follies 9.5 to 15 mm - took extra menopur
day 13 E2 614 follies 14 to 18 mm - trigger shot
day 14 E2 1346

Thanks! My last level was 580 on day 2 of injections. too high.
Will see what it comes up tomorrow after coating for one day and then injecting only 50 units.

my levels were definitely high during my cycle and it was a success! here is what they were:

Day 1: 450 Iu Follistim
Day 2: 450 Iu Follistim
Day 3: 225 Iu Follistim, Estrogen 270
Day 4: 225 Iu Follistim
Day 5: 225 Iu Follistim, Estrogen 600
Day 6: 225 Iu Follistim
Day 7: 75 Iu Follistim, 1 Menopur Estrogen 2,112
Day 8: Nothing, Estrogen 4,148
Day 9: Trigger shot, took half (5,000), Estrogen 4,400
Day 10: nothing
Day 11: Egg retrieval, Estrogen 8,640

Yes, I was only allowed to drink gatorade during my first cycle. They had me on a low sodium and only gatorade diet for 2 1/2 weeks.
I haven't been able to drink gatorade since, lol!
