dressing your baby in summer

how do you dress a 1-3 month old during the summer when you go out? i have so many cute dresses i got as hand me downs or gifts already. many of them have thin straps and just a little diaper cover bottom.

do you need to have a sweater on them still? do you put socks on their feet? do you put a blanket on them?

my son was born in May. In the summer, i usually had him in just a onsie but always had a light blanket with me. At night, socks and a sweater too!

when its hot, they are hot too. my son sweat more than i did. you dont want to overdress them

DD was born in Sept and it has been hot those days, We used the Aden and Anis swaddle blankets and I would bring a little sweater for her just in case she was cold, but my baby is a hot baby and is always sweating.

My dd was born last may and she lived in onesies all summer long... I rarely put a dress/diaper cover on her... The less clothes, the better or she'd overheat. And when they are that small, fiddling with straps and all the extras were a pain... So we went simple.

Dd didn't wear socks at all... Only if we were in a cold place and we'd throw a blanket over her (we kept her in the carrier most of the time while out)

DD was born in July. I mostly kept her in onesies and dresses. I always put a blanket over her (a thin Aden + Anais one) and had socks on her in the AC.

When they are newborn, it's not a good idea to take baby out in the HEAT. My ped said only to take DS out (august baby) when it was 70-75 outside. In summer, this means mornings & afternoons.

SO, he wore mostly sleep and plays for the first 2 months.

After 2 months, we took him out, but the weather was cooler. We also started putting him in outfits.
