DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
I am new to board. Just referred by OB to RS of NY and have an appt with Dr. Trivax. I have seen mixed things on him and practice so looking for any insight. Thank you so much! I am very nervous

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
I go to RSofNY in Mineola and I really like the practice. The one thing that isn't ideal, is that even though Dr. Trivax is your main doctor, you will be seeing with the others as well. It all depends who is there when you need to be seen. My main doctor is Dr. Saketos. I really really like her, but I've met with Sung, Trivax and San Roman on numerous occasions. They all work as a team and that might be a turn off to some people. They also have a process that takes some getting used to... sometimes it feels like we are cattle (lol), but I've had a great experience. I got pregnant with my DS after my first IUI there. I'm currently back TTC #2. If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to help!!

I am a 3x success story of RSOFNY of Stonybrook....
My "main" RE there was Dr.Stelling, but have seen just about all of them (Dr.Trivax was not there yet when I was going)...I personally loved the staff at the Stonybrook location

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
He is my dr, I have not been going there too long but so far I am very happy with him. He has a really positive ( but realistic) attitude that DH and I really liked, he talks to you, not at you. The office staff and nurses are always friendly ,knowledgable, and helpful too. With that being said I can see why this office is not for everyone, the monitoring can get a little bit crowed but it moves fast (kind of like stations or an assembly line), but it seems to work.
I know there is always a possibility of seeing other doctors, but so far I have only seen dr trivax for things.

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
I'm a 2x success story of rsofny in stony brook. I actually only saw Dr. Lydic while there but that is what happens when you are his patient. He is head of endocrinology at s.b. and his patients remain with him an do not see other dr so I can't comment on Dr. trivax but I loved the staff especially the nurses and sono techs.

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
I too am a success story of RS of NY in Stony Brook. My DS was conceived during my 2nd IUI. I never saw dr. Trivax, but saw Drs. SanRoman, Stelling and Halfen. I was happy with the staff and had a good experience with them.

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
i saw him when i went to RS of NY , although i only saw him every once in a while since i was mostly seen/monitored by the nurses.. sometimes i felt like i didn't get the answers i wanted after a failed cycle, i would just go in and start a new cycle without talking about what we should do differently for next time... whenever i had questions i couldnt talk to the doc directly i had to leave messages for the nurses. i was thinking of switching practices but thankfully that month i got pregnant from my IUI. It did feel like to me at times that place ran like a factory and i had to advocate for myself at times... i know some people prefer more individualized attention... but I did thankfully get pregnant eventually... good luck!

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
Thank you all for your help! This is a nerve racking experience. I got pregnant with my DS without trying but have been trying for a 2nd for over a year with no luck- even with help of clomid. I have no idea what to expect!

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
I used RSNY and primarily saw Dr. Trivax. FM if you want details as it was kinda a mixed experience but overall good and successful (w/ twins). I can try and answer any questions as you may have as I found him to have a very different tenor than some of the other doctors at the practice.

I also went to RSNY. We met with Dr. Trivax at my first appointment and I felt great with everything he had to say, so positive and gave me tons of reassurance that he would get me pregnant, loved him! From that first meeting though, I assumed that every time we went we would be seeing him, however that was not the case. Guess I didn't realize how it works. Like many people have said RSNY is def a lot like a factory, maybe it was because I always had early appointments before work, but I only saw Dr. Trivax maybe two more times throughout my treatment and just met with either the nurses or whatever doctor was on call. I always kinda felt like just another name, that no one really knew the right plan of attack, BUT on my second IUI and after only 4 months, I was pregnant!!! I am now currently almost 35 weeks, SO at times yes it was frustrating but ultimately what they did worked!!! So if you can look past some of the negative and keep your eye on the prize, it's obviously SO SO worth it!! That my was just my experience. Good luck!!! :)
Just wanted to pass along, I have been to a few facilities and if you are doing IUI or IVF, this is the way it is at most places. I was at one facility on LI, and you never even see a doctor during monitoring, only nurses. There is no way with all the monitoring, sometimes daily, that everyone's specific doctor could see their patient. After being at another clinic and only having contact with nurses monitoring me while cycling, since leaving there, I am happy that I see a doctor, even if it isn't my own.

Re: DR. TRIVAX and RSNY
I was a patient of Dr Trivax for about 18 months, and i really liked him He was the only dr i met with who i clicked with personally, which to me is very important when you're going through something like this. DH really felt comfortable talking to him as well whenever we went for consults. He is realistic and down to earth, and probably not the best dr for someone who needs constant hand holding or is going to be super stressed about everything (which can easily happen during IF). He spoke to us as adults and didn't tell us what he knew we wanted to hear, but was realistic in our options. He knew we couldn't do IVF because of insurance but was willing to try IUI as many times as we wanted while we figured out other options.
Yes, RSofNY can sometimes be an assembly line.. but honestly, i really liked how it was run like a well oiled machine. those nurses there (i went to the mineola office) were compassionate, knew their stuff and generally gave me good advice. At the end of each failed cycle, i would make an appt with Dr Trivax to discuss what our next steps would be. If i didn't see him at every appointment, it never bothered me because i knew i was in good hands with the other people there.
I ultimately got pregnant on my own, but I was so appreciative of everything Dr. Trivax did for us while i was a patient of his.
Good luck!
