Dr B appt today!

First of all let me say I loved him! Second I think i am officially a member of this board.
thank you girls for all your help so far.

Well at my appt he said there could be multiple reasons for my long cycles. He explained them all talked a little about PCOS but didnt think that was my issue and that this would be an "easy" case until he did my sono...then said quite possibly could be PCOS

of course at that point i didn't ask questions.
He did bloodwork and is going to call me tom.
But I dont really have a good understanding of PCOS? is it really difficult to get pregnant?

DH also has very slight morphology and motility issues...that would prob not be a prob but with my issues may be a prob.

I feel good about the appt but I am a little overwhelmed.

thanks for letting me vent a little

Re: Dr B appt today!

I'm glad you enjoyed your Dr.B appointment!

As far as difficult it is to get pregnant with PCOS.. I really do think it all depends!! I have heard of people who have PCOS getting pregnant rather quickly, and others who end up needing IVF, etc. So, I don't think there's a solid answer for that!!

Dr.B is so patient and competent! I'm sure if he says you will be an easy fix, he must have had reasons for saying that!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Good luck!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

(for reference- I have PCOS and am currently in my second medicated IUI cycle)

Best of luck! Dr. B is great!

Re: Dr B appt today!

getting pregnant with PCOS all depends on what your specific symptoms are. if you ovulate on your own you have a better chance of getting preg sooner. if you dont there are many treatment options and dr. b is amazing so you are in good hands. i have PCOS and have done 3 cycles with dr. b so far - one clomid that was really prescribed by my ob/gyn but was monitored by dr.b (when i switched to him), and two femara/injectable cycles - one where i hyperstimmed and one that ended in a chemical pregnancy. im on a mini-break right now but i know as soon as i am ready dr. b will get me to ovulate, which is half the battle for me.

when i was first diagnosed this past novermber i was very overwhelmed as well. but there are a lot of treatment options and dr. b is the most caring and personable doctor that there is. you can be confident that he will do whatever it takes to find a protocol thats right for you.
