Dow Drops 700 Points!
So far today the Dow has dropped 700 points according to MSNBC.
Oh God, I hate to even watch the news anymore.

I haven't heard, though I know this morning Jim Cramer (spelling)? was on Today show telling people to take their money out of the stock market if they need it in the next 5 years.
Global markets are doing very badly also--many countries have credit freezes right now. Hopefully none are countries we are borrowing money from or we're in trouble.

I'm watching my company's stock on our home page just plummet! My husband works for the same company and is an officer in the company having a good deal of his yearly compensation in stock options.

this is really freaking me out
not for my investments- b/c I have 29 years till I can touch them
BUT my Dad has 1 year until he is 59.5 and I know he is losing tons of money

Maybe our candidates could stop the mud slinging and start reassuring the country that either of their economic plans could help this country. People are scared and do not understand what is happening and thinking it is only going to get worse.

Yahoo has the AP reporting an almost 800 drop. That was a few mins ago - Maybe it's changed.

It did hit an 800 pt drop....it has changed quite a bit from minute to minute all day pretty much. It has been floating in the 5's & 6's for a while....

Agreed. I really don't want to hear more about Bill Ayres or the Keating s & l scandal. I want to know what they will do about this crisis.

He doesn't have to touch it until 70 1/2. If he doesn't need it, I would tell him to sit tight with it.

Yes. I was hitting F5 on the NYSE website but it was glitching & kept going back & forth between 324 & 648!
But it looks like it closed at 324, which is more manageable indeed!
