Does your young child leave gifts under the tree alone?
I have started christmas shopping. There is no way my 2.5 year old would let wrapped gifts stay under the tree. He will definitely want to open them immediately. I think we are going to keep the gifts hidden in the garage or office until Christmas day.
Do your kids leave the gifts alone under the tree?

We've never put stuff under the tree until Christmas Eve. I think it would be too tempting to him.

Nothing goes under the tree until Christmas eve. There is no way my kids would not rip open gifts

We have everything in large plastic bags in the corner of the living room. DS asked the other day what the bags were, we said, "Bags" and he was satisfied with that answer and went on his way.
Next year I'll have to hide them, but right now, neither kid has gone near the black bags.
When we were younger, my sister was around 3 ish. We had put all the presents under the tree that were from us to our parents, or to each other in advance. My mom came to find my sister had opened up ALL of those gifts so we had to re-wrap them.

this...
She loves the tree and is constanty moving an ornament here and there. I love that on xmas morning she wakes up to find the tree with gifts under it. Makes the big 'ah-ha' moment.

We have never wrapped things and put them under the tree before Christmas. We might wrap them but they stay upstairs in my DH's office...this way when they appear under the tree on Christmas Morning, she knows that "Santa" brought them!

my kids have never touched the gifts under the tree. i like to keep everyone else's wrapped gifts there. They are basically all given out before Christmas eve...then Santa stocks it up big time!

i was not going to put them under the tree originally, but decided to do it, and they both 4 & 2 year old leave them untouched.
this was my first year i was afraid they were going to touch them, but to my surprise, all i had to do was tell them no once

For those that do put under the tree, do you put all the gifts including Santa's? I rather put some down there but not sure if just ours to DC or from Santa as well.

same here. After DS goes to bed on Christmas Eve, we'll put his gifts out. Other family members gifts are kept in my bedroom or else DS would rip them apart.

santa's gifts go out christmas eve. the gifts from us and families gifts go under the tree
ETA: santas gifts are in different wrapping paper

The tree is behind a fence. My oldest would never touch the tree or the gifts underneath but the little one is a tornado and would be all under the tree tearing stuff up.
The only gifts that would have been under the tree early on were gifts for family members and friends. We would put DS gifts under the tree xmas eve when he was asleep.

Nope. All of my DD's gifts from Santa are packed away out of sight. The only gifts under the tree are those for family and friends. She knows her presents won't be under the tree until Santa brings them on Xmas Eve.

Yes and no She isn't unwrapping them, but she LOVES taking the bows off and playing with them. She'll be 2 on Christmas Day. I figure we should start early with teh "rules". I also explain these are our gifts to family and friends and that Santa doesn't come until Christmas Day. She just smiles and says No Ho Ho as she points to gifts. I think all in all she is doing very well!
