Does your family/friends know you're TTC?
Did you tell your family you're trying to have a baby??
DH & I originally were going to wait until next March to really start trying; i was gonna go off the pill in the next month or two and use back up protection. We've decided to just stop using protection all together and see what happens. When family has asked about when we're having kids i kept saying next year after our anniversary passes. I think I'm going to keep the fact that we're trying (or i should say not using protection) to myself until we get a BFP or until we start taking the steps to actively get preggers (OPK; charting)...
I know it's really not anyone's business but I only wonder b/c people keep asking!! Especially since we got our 2nd dog over the summer; they'll ask when are we having kids since we have the dogs now!

we havent told anyone except DH's sister and a girl at work who is pregnant...I didnt want to tell anyone really until we are pregnant for 3 months...we are keeping this private especially with my IF issues.

Nobody knows...I want to wait to tell family. After first appt...and others at 3 months. However, I have a group of friends that I feel we may need to tell right away bc we are always hanging at someones house and drinks are always around. They will catch on to me within weeks I'm sure. We shall see when I get a bfp

A couple close friends know. We're trying to keep it secret from family just because I don't want to feel like everyone's watching me to see if I might be pregnant, KWIM? I feel like it's too much pressure, if that makes sense. I'd rather just surprise everyone once we get a BFP.

close friends and family know. and they will also know right away when/if we get a BFP... I know they will be excited and I want them to get to be the whole 9 months.... or if something should happen, I would want their support.

we are almost in the same situation as you...stopping birth control shortly and seeing what happens (not charting or anything right away). DH used to tell people we want a honeymoon baby (taking our honeymoon in March 2012). but i made him stop saying that! for now people ask us and we just say we arent considering anything until after our vacation in March. So that has led everyone to leave us alone...for now.
but once march comes and goes i still dont plan on telling people...i plan to be vague. i dont think its anyones business and i dont want people always asking me if i am or am not pregnant. they will know when i decide to tell them. if there are problems (god forbid) then i am sure i will tell a few friends bc you need to have someone to talk to about it... but if all is well then no one will know

I think I'll definitely keep this between DH & Myself. When we get that BFP then we'll share the news with our families! Until then i'll keep saying "next year" or if it doesn't happen soon and next year comes; "i'll just say it's something we're thinking about soon"

We decided to keep this to ourselves until we get a BFP and have it verified by a dr. Until I see a baby in there, we're keeping our lips sealed.

Right now DH & I aren't temping/charting...just going on a whim & if it happens, it happens.
My mom & 1 of my very close friends knows that we arent doing anything to prevent having a baby.
Once we do get a BFP, as much as I would love to tell our parents & siblings right away - we cant! My MIL has the biggest mouth ever & would end up telling everyone on FB (even if we asked her not to).

DH and I have been together for 12 1/2 years and have been married for over 4 years. EVERYONE has been asking us, especially now that really close friends of ours have started to get pregnant/have children. It's really annoying, but neither one of our families know we are trying. We want to surprise them since it's a first grandchild for both. Most of our really close friends know that we've been trying. However I just got my BFP on Tuesday, and I've only told a select group of friends - no family yet. Everyone else we will wait until after our first appt

DH's aunt is exactly like this. With her first grandchild, she told everyone she knew- even called her son's mil and blabbed before the had a chance to tell her.
With the second grandchild, she didn't find out until 3 weeks before she was due.

Officially, just my mom and sister know. Other than that, I think everyone just knows that we are trying. DH and I both love kids, we are older, and have been married over a year so I think for us it's pretty obvious.
