absolutely!
My hubby and I have always been a team. We have never been the "his" and "her" duty type.. i think its plain bias and stupid
I change our tires if I know it needs to be done and Im there. He cleans the toliet if its dirty. I do the lawn or leafs if necessary and he cooks up some great meals.
We both feel the sexual difference of roles are taught to us and not inherent to the actual sex of the child. His father was always AWOL when he was a kid and he picked up a lot of slack for his mom since she was raising 3 kids on her own. I didn't have a Mom around and my Dad was always there for me, trying hard to make this tom-boy girly!
Jim helped actually plan and arrange our wedding and was more updated in my BCPs that I was.
He knows AJ's diapers, wipie choices, clothes that work or dont, her times to eat, how to burp her right, how long she stays awake after eating, then nap and play time.
I so very much love my hubby!!
We pride ourselves in our teamwork!
We work as a team in raising and taking care of Rylan. I'm a SAHM so I go to BRU during the day while he's at work. He changes Rylans diapers...he doesn't know his size because he doesn't buy them to see the size.
This has nothing to do with working as a team, as Dawn said, DH and I work together as a team to raise our child, but I am the one who buys the diapers and I do not think that assigns any type of gender role to anything!
I agree and well said.

Re: Does your DH/SO know what size diapers DC wears?
Now that DH is home with Kaydyn during the day he knows what size she wears, but before he got laid off and wasn't home with her all the time he had no idea what size diapers she wore.

Re: Does your DH/SO know what size diapers DC wears?
he totally failed the test! It's becuase I do all of the shopping. he said 'it's those eco-friendly ones... hugs happy s#it or whatever you call them... they're in a green bag' (isn't that the quote of the week?)
he changes diapers all the time, and apparently never noticed the brand... he hust rips open a bag and grabs a bunch.
(the correct answer: 7th generation size 1)

Re: Does your DH/SO know what size diapers DC wears?
He doesn't have a clue.
But as far as I'm concerned, as long as he knows HOW to change a diaper, I'm ok.

It depends on what else he knows/doesn't know and what else he does/does not do. If he does not know diaper size but he is super involved, it certainly does not say anything negative about the relationship. If he does not know diaper size, and does not know what the kid eats, and has never changed a diaper, and does not know what size clothing, and can't unfold the stroller and has never been to the pediatrician, maybe it still does not say anything negative but it's not the situation for me (unless there is a good reason like him being away in the armed forces). I will be honest and say that I would not have the energy to do it all myself.

I don't think it is right to make that judgement in anyone's case.
There have been times in Christopher's short life where *I* didn't change a diaper in days, etc or DH and mainly it was because we were working too hard for our FAMILY while the other one took care of the child.
My DH works night and currently I am SAHM, I cannot tell you the last time he changed a diaper, does that give you the right to judge his parenting skills? Absolutely not b/c he is an amazing father who is working very hard to support his family.

I don't see how knowing a diaper size and everything else written here relates. My DH is VERY hands on when he is home and because he works so much I do a lot of the "man" jobs around here - it is not a "her" duty to know dipaer size, I just do the shopping. I don't know if he knows -- and he is working so I can't ask him. My guess would be no - my DH works 65+hours a week and I am a SAHM.
He is a wonderful father and is very hands on with our DS though. He knows what he eats, his shoe size, his clothes size, what to do if he is getting a diaper rash etc.

I did not judge anyone else's situation. I was very specific in stating that if all of the facts that I listed were present, it would not be the right situation for me.

Re: Does your DH/SO know what size diapers DC wears?
I asked DH this question a few months ago and he also had no idea. I gave him a lesson and now he at least knows she wears Pampers size 5. (After I brought him to Target for a full diaper lesson) .

Re: Does your DH/SO know what size diapers DC wears?
no!!!!!!!! he always came home with the wrong kind..either size, brand, or if he gets huggies right, it won't be snug and dry it will be the gentle ones.
so, i ripped off the part of the bag where it says the kind...he keeps it in his truck and pulls it out when he goes to the store.

Re: Does your DH/SO know what size diapers DC wears?
DW buys them, but I usually know (usually means when she switches to the next size, I may not realize at first). Most of the time, DW buys the large box of diapers, and we use one sleeve at a time, so the size isn't always obvious. When you are putting them on a squirming child, the number printed on the diaper is the least of my concerns....
