Does your DH go to every appt. with you?

Just wondering...
DH has already gone to all my ultrasound appts (and will continue to do so) but I dont know if I should bother him to come to my monthly appts? Tomorrow we have an appt. where we hear the heartbeat (though we've already heard it for the first time at our 12week ultrasound). Im debating whether he really should go tomorrow or not. Hes been so exhausted lately that I would hate to drag him to my appt...

Yes, he has come to all of mine. We haven't had the best of luck with pregnancies so I think it is as reassuring for him as it is for me.

To ultrasound appt's, yes.

To regular check-ups, no he doesn't come to all of them. Since they usually last about 15-20 minutes I feel bad making him come all the way home from work for every one. Also, most of the pregnant women I see in the waiting room are alone, so I figure it's pretty normal.

No - he usually comes to the one in the beginning and maybe the level 2 but, that's about it.

I schedule mine around his schedule.. I think he missed one but he's been to all of them.

With our first he came to every appt. But with this baby he just started a new job and isnt able to come with me. He came to the first one but thats it.

No he has only come to the first appt, 20 week scan, amnio and that is it. He is always invited but we have decided that we'd rather have him save vacation time for after unless it is a Big appt.

Not to monthly appointments but goes to U/S appointments.

No only to the big appointments with sonos. Dh has a very demanding job in Manhattan. It's too difficult for him to leave early every month. Now that I'm still at my re he can come to more appointments because those are early in the morning.

Nope. He'll just come to the level 2..Husband owns a business and doesn't have the flexibility.
I'm ok with it.

nope. DH and I both work in the city and both have very little PTO hours after our honeymoon so I'd rather not use both of ours up when it's not really necessary. We might need his after the baby is born and I use all mine up. LIke a PP pointed out, they are usually not very long either so I feel bad asking him to leave early etc.

He was with me the first ultrasound and will def be with me for the 20 week when we find out the gender

DH came to the "big appts".. 8 week, and Level II but hasnt been to the monthly check ups. The doctor is down the block from my house and DH is usually home when I have the appts - the first few check ups he didnt show an interest in coming to bc of other committments /work around the house (and I got very upset about it) but eventually realized that nothing special goes on during the routine appts so although now he offers to come with me, I have told him he doenst have to come and he doesnt insist otherwise!

With my first pregnancy DH came to a few of the important appointments.

The 9week sonogram

A random montly appt to hear the heartbeat

And one of the growth sonos towards the end.

I think 3 appts total, and then of course, to the lamaze classes and to the tour of the hospital.

This is our 2nd pregnancy and I am 18 weeks, and he hasn't been to a single appt yet! It doesn't really bother me though bc I am a SAHM now, and it's just easier to make the appts for when the kiddos are in school and so I do them during the day while he is at work!

Nope. Only u/s appts. I have my 24wk appt tonight and I told him if he wants, he can come. Otherwise, no biggie. It's just a b/p, wt, urine, then heartbeat check, belly check, "How are you feeling?", "Any questions?", that's basically it. Oh and at every appt my dr always says "This month you can expect..."

No! 3rd child, he's BTDT!

He did come with me to my 12 week CVS test. But the scaredy cat that he is, he stayed in the waiting room because he didn't want to see the needle!

For my first pregnancy he came to every single one.

This time he hasn't been to any. It's easier for me to schedule them during the day because our doc is always a looong wait and we need DD1 to be home at a normal hour. I will probably have him come to one towards the end.

only sonos or appointments when we need to review something with the dr. or when I have lots of questions.

ETA- I make the sonos on days he's off and he never uses any time off if he's off and I'm going and we have questions, he comes. hes probably been to half of my appointments at this point (32 weeks)

He comes to all of them but he waits in the waiting room or outside. He only goes in for the big ones.

mine did although i never expected him too, it was always his choice. he wanted to be there for everything.

DH maybe missed 2 or 3 appts., but those were just the blood pressure, urine, heart beat ones.... litterally i am in and out of the exam in 10 minutes... my wait time is longer!!!

yes, he insists. He wants to he there for any good or bad news that may come our way.

Sono's yes. I would not make him come to routine checkups. He works and we have two other kids that need to spend time with him.

nope, he just goes to the sono apts- at this point I am 34 weeks and go every 2 weeks- my visits normally only take about 10 min- I would rather he take more time off when the baby comes
