Does your DH ever do playdates without you?
DH gets out of work earlier than I do. He refuses to try to make playdates with classmates without me. He would rather just take the boys to the park or playground alone.
One particular kid in DS's class runs up to DH everyday and asks if he can come over to play. The dad gets home late. The mom works from home so she is available almost everyday.
Is it weird to have a playdate with a mom and dad and not 2 moms?
I don't think DH would have a problem asking another dad but all the dads get home pretty late. DH is the only dad who gets out of work at 3.

No he doesn't but he works 45-50hrs a week and doesn't get home until 6:30 at night. (I'm a SAHM) Knowing my DH though, even if he had different hours I can't see him wanting to bother with playdates, it wouldn't be his thing. 
ETA - He would be like your DH, wanting to do his own thing.

My DH would never do that, and I don't blame him. He'd rather hang out with the kids then try to make small talk with another mom. He does have guy friends with young kids though, so if they were both off the same day he'd probably make plans with them.

Only if it is a friend. He would never just meet with another mom for play dates. He would probably offer to take the child for an hour or so though to play.

But then again, I'm not really big into playdates myself.
I am a bit of a loner and an introvert and just enjoy being alone with DD.
She gets social interaction at daycare.

All the time. I come home and he has 3-4 kids over for a playdate. If our kids want a friend over, he invites them, it doesn't matter if it's just him and another Mom.

This! Unless it is with his friends that have kids he is not havign play dates.....but truthfully neither am I. I work all week and I want my time with my DS on the weekends so I'd rather go play with my son than spend time with others.

No.
He doesn't exactly look for stuff like that. He will go to gymboree every once in a while (but that's not 1:1)
I'm going to just throw this out there...
I'm not crazy about my hubby hanging out with young women 1:1. Even if those women have children.
My marriage is great & we love each other... we both work with MOSTLY members of the opposite sex, but I've seen some nasty stuff out there (at work & otherwise).
Why encourage something like that?

He makes playdates with his friends who have kids DS age or his cousin who has young kids.
Other than his cousin - the playdates are usually out of the house so the kids end up doing their own thing anyway so there isn't any socializing with the parent.

DH has 3 work friends who has young kids. It usually ends up being a family affair. I think I may suggest DH take the boys alone.
DH's friends are JUST starting to have kids.

I personally would feel uncomfortable if I hung out with a dad for playdate. Also, my husband would NEVER do it either.
