Does Your 4-6 Month Old Gag on Bottle and Refuse to Drink?

My DS is 5 months and he has never been really into the bottle. He very rarely finishes a 6 oz bottle in one sitting, it is usually 1-3 oz with a 40 min break and then maybe the rest or that is enough for him.

Since starting cereal he hates the last bottle. He has oatmeal around 6-7:00 and I cant get him to have a bottle after that. He goes to bed between 9-10:30 so he is up for a while after the oatmeal. He will scream and gag when I try to give him the bottle and spit it out.

Does anyone else's baby do this? I guess the cereal is enough? He usually wakes up at 8 am.

Thanks!

Have you changed the nipples?

Any thoughts on changing to sippy cups before bed?

I am still using the Level 2 nipple. Do you think I should try the Level 3?

I didnt even think of a sippy cup, I just assumed he was too young! I will give this a try.

Thanks!

DD is 4 months. I've used 4 different bottles this week trying to get her to drink properly! I finally came across the MAM bottle and use the level 1 nipple, she was gagging on everything else. She is still a little finicky when drinking but does much better on this. For her too fast of a nipple was much worse so maybe try going to a slower nipple too?
